The recent catastrophic glacier-related flash flood along the Nepal–Tibet/China border makes the TROTTER International Climate Camp on “Climate Crisis in Eastern Himalaya” even more urgent. Reports indicate that a glacier collapse/ice-rock avalanche triggered devastating flooding, with severe impacts across Nepal and Tibet.

Here is a stronger campaign message:

🌏 THE HIMALAYAS ARE WARNING US — WE MUST ACT NOW.

The recent catastrophic glacier collapse and flash floods in the Nepal–Tibet Himalayan region have once again shown how vulnerable Himalayan communities, ecosystems and livelihoods are to rapidly changing mountain conditions. (Reuters)

This is not a distant warning. The Eastern Himalaya is facing an urgent climate and ecological crisis.
