With technical support from HAPEF, our two farmers, Mr. Kundan Singh and Mr. Khagesh Saha, have successfully received a 2 HP Solar based pump System with support from the Agriculture Department under the Kisan Samriddhi Yojana.

This scheme is a game changer for small and marginal farmers. Under this initiative, farmers receive up to 90% subsidy on solar-powered pump sets where 90% of the cost is borne by the government and farmers contribute only 10%.

Why this matters? The impact goes beyond irrigation:

✅ Freedom from diesel & electricity:Zero dependency on expensive diesel and unreliable electricity.
✅ Reduced cost of cultivation:Significant savings on input costs, leading to higher net income.
✅ Timely & assured irrigation: Ensures water availability for multi-cropping.
✅ Climate-resilient & better Farming: Promotes clean energy and builds resilience against climate change.
✅ Sustainable livelihood:A one-time investment for long-term agricultural sustainability.

At HAPEF, we facilitate awareness, documentation, and technical support to ensure that government schemes reach the last-mile farmers.

This is just the beginning. Thousands of farmers are still waiting for such support.

ATMA and HAPEF jointly organized a one-day Krishi Karmashala program on finger millet cultivation at Murgadanga village, Pakur. More than 40 farmers took part and learned practical approaches to boost income, manage crop calendars, and adopt sustainable farming. Key topics covered:

- Income-enhancing strategies for millet cultivation
- Better crop management practices to increase millet yields
- Sustainable methods like integrated pest management and water conservation
- Practical guidance on millet seed selection, irrigation, and pest control
- Use of bio-inputs to improve soil health and productivity

The training gave farmers useful knowledge for profitable, eco-friendly millet farming that supports rural livelihoods and environmental care. HAPEF’s effort shows its focus on promoting climate resilient agriculture and uplifting rural communities. Partnering with ATMA reflects how collaboration strengthens agricultural extension services.

Meet with Karolina Kisku, a newly crop grower from Baramasia village, Hiranpur block, Pakur district, Jharkhand. With strong support from HAPEF, she successfully cultivated watermelon for the first time in her village—setting an inspiring example for others.

From just 5 decimals of land, she has already harvested 4 quintals of watermelon and earned ₹10,000 by selling her produce in the weekly market. By the end of the season, her total income is expected to reach ₹15,000–₹18,000.

Her success has motivated other farmers in the community to explore watermelon cultivation as a viable seasonal livelihood option. Recently, HAPEF with the Agriculture Department organized an exposure visit to her land —further encouraging farmers to adopt this practice.

Meet Susana and Karmela Didi, two inspiring farmers from Lakhanpur and Maharo villages, Hiranpur block, Pakur district, Jharkhand 🌟 With technical support from HAPEF and convergence with the Horticulture Department, they have successfully cultivated strawberries 🍓 in their villages. Selling fresh strawberries at ₹450-₹500/kg in local markets, they are boosting their income and diversifying farming practices. This initiative empowers rural communities and promotes sustainable agriculture. We are proud to support such impactful work at the grassroots level.

HAPEF was proud to participate in the Udyan Mahotsav cm Madhu Mahotsav & Horticulture Fair, organized by the District Horticulture Department on March 7, 2026, in Pakur, Jharkhand. The event served as a vital platform for boosting farmer income, showcasing tech-driven sustainable agriculture, and highlighting government schemes designed to improve yields and livelihoods.

During the Mela, HAPEF engaged directly with local farmers to share insights on innovations that increase productivity while reducing input costs. We were thrilled to showcase our key initiatives, including:

• Bio-input Resource Centres for eco-friendly farming.
• Mushroom Entrepreneurship and Strawberry Farming programs.
• Millet Cultivation and high-value Watermelon farming in Hiranpur Block.
• Strategic Convergence Projects to streamline rural development.

We were honored to have Shri Manish Kumar (Deputy Commissioner, Pakur) to visit our stall, alongside officials from DAO, DHO, ATMA, and NFSM. Their appreciation for our mission to uplift the farming community is a powerful motivator for our team.

The highlight of the day? HAPEF was recognized for its innovative approach and impactful work in Hiranpur, receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the Pakur District Administration!

HAPEF is proud to facilitate the Mushroom Entrepreneurship Program in Hiranpur Block, Pakur District, Jharkhand, empowering rural families and promoting sustainable development. 50 families cultivate high-quality oyster mushrooms, earning Rs. 150/kg - Rs. 200/kg, boosting income and livelihoods. With comprehensive training, they are selling fresh mushrooms in local markets, strengthening community bonds and inspiring others to join. Mushroom farming offers benefits like high nutritional value, low water usage, and short production cycles. This initiative is driving rural development, promoting eco-friendly practices, and transforming lives.

HAPEF has implemented watermelon cultivation with micro-drip irrigation support in Hiranpur block to promote technology-based, climate-resilient agriculture and improve farmers’ income opportunities. This year, 15 farmers have taken up watermelon farming with technical support from HAPEF, focusing on efficient water use and reduced cultivation costs.

Farmers were supported with land preparation, raised bed cultivation, micro-drip installation, plastic mulching, and transplanting. The micro-drip system enables precise water application at the root zone, reducing wastage and ensuring uniform soil moisture.

Through micro-drip irrigation, farmers are now benefiting from:
✅ Efficient water use
✅ Improved plant health and uniform growth
✅ Reduced input costs
✅ Better yield potential and income security

Through this initiative, HAPEF continues to promote sustainable, technology-driven farming practices to make watermelon cultivation more profitable for small and marginal farmers.
