Yes, we cannot solve the problem of poverty totally from our country without the help of government, but we can definitely contribute something which can improve the lives of poors’ a little bit.
We Rotaract Club of Sonargaon Kolkata organised ”BASAN-II”, an initiative to donate clothes to street children and old people, near Dakhineshwar. It was held on 3rd of July, 2022. The purpose of donating clothes is to remove poverty from this whole world. By conducting this type of events we can help as many people as possible.
In this project we approximately gifted 50-55 people clothes along with childrens.

"Happiness and joy grows with sharing" Bengali's New year is indeed the most awaited day by the Bengalis all over the world.It brings a new beginning and lots of joy.We wait so much for this day to come so that we can celebrate it with our loved ones and begin a beautiful year ahead.There are so many people out there who cannot celebrate like we do,maybe because they can't access to the happiness properly. This time let's bring happiness on their faces by sharing this joy with them.We, Rotaract club of Sonargaon Kolkata presents "বর্ষবরণ", an initiative to distribute 32 ration kits to rural area, this Bengali New Year.

India is a country of individuals living together with different religion, diverse society with a vibrant culture and tradition commend this special event with great joy. We feel pleased, and it makes it more energetic to save our motherland from any attack on the country’s dignity and sovereignty.

On this occasion, we Rotaract Club of Sonargaon Kolkata along with KRISHNA FOUNDATION organized “Azadi”, an initiative to spread patriotic feeling among 50-60 under privileged kids with flag hosting, lunch and fun-filled events. The event took place at Barrackpore on 15th of August. Games, drawing competition, performances , flag-hosting, distribution of stationaries were there. It turned out to be a huge success and we, as a team were able to celebrate the whole day with the kids.

So this Durga puja we took an initiative to donate new clothes to people of Sunderban and their puja memorable and cherish able.

We Rotaract Club of Sonargaon Kolkata along with Rotary Club of Sonargaon organised ”AGOMONI-II”, an initiative to spent time and gift them new clothes to 70 unprivileged children in Bijay Nagar, Sunderban and taking a step to make their puja special and happy. It was held on 24th of September, 2022. By conducting this type of events we can help as many children as possible and bring smile on their faces.

We Rotaract Club of Sonargaon Kolkata organised ”POTH SATHI-II”, an initiative to provide snacks and refreshments to rickshaw pullers, near Central. It was held on 20TH of July, 2023. We provide snacks and refreshments to 50 rickshaw pullers. By conducting this type of events we can help as many people as possible.

Out of the 355 million reproductive age women and girls in India, only 12 percent use sanitary pads during their periods.

So Rotaract Club of Sonargaon presents SHAKTI-III, here we taught young girls about how to maintain proper hygiene in menstrual days and everything about menstruation and also distributed sanitary pads. The event took place at Rabindra Sarovar on 4th of September. It turned out to be a huge success and we, as a team were able to share the knowledge with the girls and distributed napkins to around 30-35 females.

Stray animals never get enough food and are constantly hungry and thirsty, and are seen scavenging the garbage dumps just to get a mouthful. They suffer silently in pain, which ends in a prolonged painful death. Stray animals don’t have any shelter be it from the sun, rain, cold, or winds. Every day is a battle for them It is only their strong survival skills that allow them to live long and only those who are fit and strong have shelter and a few scraps of food to fill their hunger.

Rotaract Club of Sonargaon Kolkata organized PAWSITIVITY-IV, an initiative to feed stray dogs and cats. The event took place on 30th of July, at DUM DUM. It turned out to be a huge success and we were able to feed approx. 20 strays

Durga Puja is one of the biggest Hindu festivals celebrated across the country to mark the victory of goddess Durga in her battle against the shape-shifting asura, Mahishasura. Also known as Durgotsava or Sharodotsava, this festival holds great significance for the Bengali community who celebrates it with great pomp every year.
Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra, this is the last day of the 10-day-long festival of Durga Puja. It is believed that on this day Maa Durga returns to her husband, Lord Shiva, on Mount Kailash. It marks the celebration of righteousness over evil.
So, we Rotaract Club of Sonargaon Kolkata organizes “Vijaya Baithak” jointly with Rotaract Club of Calcutta Acropolis. The main motive behind this event is to discuss about the upcoming event, starting with some cultural performances like dance, singing and any other talent showcases followed by fellowship and lunch. The event turned out to be good and also gave us the opportunity to exchange some ideas for the community.
