Behind every safe delivery, every recovered child, and every healthier community is a nurse working with strength, compassion, and dedication. 👩‍⚕️💙

This International Nurses Day, we honour the healthcare heroes who play a vital role in maternal and child welfare across India. From prenatal care and safe childbirth to health education and community support, nurses continue to transform countless lives every single day. 🌍✨

Despite long hours, limited resources, and challenging conditions, their resilience never fades. Their care builds stronger families, healthier futures, and empowered communities. 🤱🏽🩺💫

To every nurse making a difference quietly and selflessly — thank you for being the heart of healthcare. 💐🤍

Motherhood is often celebrated through love, sacrifice, and care. 💐 But behind that care is invisible labour—the endless planning, remembering, organising, emotional support, and responsibilities that rarely get acknowledged. 🧠🏠💞

This Mother’s Day, let’s move beyond flowers and appreciation alone, and start conversations about shared responsibility, gender roles, and family well-being. Because mothers deserve to be seen not only for what they do for others, but also as individuals with dreams, limits, and identities of their own. 🌸✨

True care begins when the mental load is shared, recognised, and respected. 🤝💗

This International Day of the Midwife, we recognise the vital role midwives play in ensuring maternal health, dignity, and care for women everywhere. 🌍✨ From supporting safe deliveries to advocating for women’s rights, they are the backbone of compassionate healthcare.

Midwives don’t just deliver babies—they build trust, empower women with knowledge, and advocate for their rights in healthcare systems that often overlook them. 🩺🤍

Their presence can mean the difference between risk and safety, fear and confidence. Because when women receive the care they deserve, entire communities thrive. 🌸👩‍⚕️

Women work everywhere—fields, factories, homes, and beyond. Yet their labour remains undervalued, underpaid, and often invisible.

This May Day, we highlight the reality of gendered labour in India—where wage gaps persist, unpaid work goes unrecognized, and most women remain in informal, insecure jobs without basic protections. 💪

Because recognizing women’s work is the first step towards fair pay, dignity, and equality ✊✨

This World Day for Safety & Health at Work, we spotlight the reality: 81% of India’s working women are in the informal sector, often without contracts, protection, or dignity.

From sanitation workers to farm labourers and garment workers—unsafe conditions don’t just risk lives, they limit economic freedom. Because true empowerment begins where safety exists.

Let’s move beyond awareness → towards action, inclusion, and dignity for every working woman. 💪🏼🤍

Visibility is not just about being seen. It is about being heard, respected, and protected.

This Le***an Visibility Day, we acknowledge the layered realities of le***an lives in India—where identities are often erased, silenced, or misunderstood. From family rejection to lack of inclusive healthcare, and from social stigma to systemic violence, the struggles are real—especially for Dalit, Adivasi, disabled, and rural le***an women who face multiple, intersecting forms of discrimination.

Let’s choose allyship that listens, includes, and acts. Because every identity deserves dignity, safety, and space. 🏳️‍🌈

Threads, Lives, Legends – A Wrap 🧵✨

Three days. Three extraordinary feminist scholars. One unforgettable journey through cloth, myth, and grassroots storytelling.

We began with Sriradha DebRoy and the subversive stitches of nakshi kantha – where recycled saris become symbols of agency and resistance.

We traveled into the Mahabharata with Dr. Anomitra Biswas, centering epic women – mothers, wives, goddesses – and asking who truly bears dishonor.

We closed with Dr. Tonisha Guin, reimagining Kantha as a living tool for intersectional public humanities in low-resource, grassroots spaces.

Thank you to every speaker, every participant for ensuring that 60% of every registration fee directly supports gender justice and SRHR programmes of Spriha.

The stitches hold. The stories stay. The legends live on.

In this LTAP session at Nangi Balika Vidyalaya, peer mentors came together to identify the challenges that prevent students from attending school during menstruation.

From brainstorming solutions to writing a letter to the Headmistress and faculty, and creating posters on the use of MHM machinery, the session focused on turning awareness into action. 🤝🏻🤍

When students are given the space to think, question, and lead, change becomes collective and sustainable. Small steps towards safer, more accessible school spaces. 💧

Through our LTAP sessions at Nangi Balika Vidyalaya, students came together to share experiences, learn from one another, and reflect on everyday challenges around hygiene, health, and access.🤝🏻

With peer mentors leading conversations, the space became one of trust, expression, and collective learning—where students didn’t just listen, but actively participated, questioned, and created solutions.🤍

At Spriha, we believe that awareness grows stronger when it is shared, and leadership begins when students are given the space to lead.

On Ambedkar Jayanti, we reflect on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s vision of an equitable society—one where education becomes a tool to question, challenge, and dismantle structures of caste and gender inequality.

From advocating for women’s rights through the Hindu Code Bill to emphasising equal pay and dignity, his work continues to shape conversations around justice and inclusion.

At Spriha, we carry this vision forward through our work in education, health, and gender justice creating spaces where learning becomes empowerment.

Because real change begins when knowledge leads to action.
