• Project Description:*Thalassemia Screening Test and Counseling Report*

Our organization conducted a Thalassemia screening test and counseling session at Bankim Ghosh Memorial Girls' High School in Kidderpore. The event saw participation from students of Sarat Pal Balika Vidyalaya, Khidirpur Academy, and Bankim Ghosh Memorial Girls' High School.
The screening test was conducted by B C Roy Children's Hospital, and students underwent the test to determine their Thalassemia status. Those identified as Thalassemia positive or carriers will receive intimation, and appropriate counseling will be followed for the affected families.
This initiative aims to raise awareness about Thalassemia, a genetic disorder that affects hemoglobin production, and provide necessary support to those affected. By conducting such screenings, we can work towards early detection, prevention, and management of the condition. We felicitated 6 phlebotomists as well and provided choco biscuits to the children who were being tested.

*Club Visit and Community Service Report*
On August 14, 2024, our club conducted its official visit on the eve of India's 79th Independence Day, which was graced by the esteemed presence of District Chairman Seema Sonthalia and District Secretary Aparajita Sen. The visit was highly successful and enjoyable, and the dignitaries were impressed by the dedication and efforts of our office bearers.
During the visit, we had the opportunity to engage in meaningful community service. We extended support to a needy family by handing over Rs 10,000 to the wife of Mr. Dipendra Ganguly, a 55-year-old gentleman battling kidney failure. His family has been facing significant emotional and financial challenges, including his wife's severe burn injuries two years ago and their son's ongoing health issues. This gesture aims to assist Mr. Ganguly in continuing his medical treatment and alleviate some of the financial burden on his family.
Additionally, we continued our long-standing initiative of supporting a Class X student, Tisha Sarkar, by providing her monthly tuition fees. This initiative has been ongoing for the past five years, reflecting our commitment to empowering education and fostering a brighter future for deserving students.
