🌿World Environment Day 2026 Observed in the Sundarbans🌿
On 5 June 2026, the Green College Project of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur, observed World Environment Day at Frezerganj (South 24 Parganas) and Jogeshganj (North 24 Parganas) in the Sundarbans region.
The programme aimed to raise environmental awareness and inspire local communities, especially children and youth, to actively participate in nature conservation. A range of activities, including awareness sessions, recitation, yoga demonstrations, drawing competitions, quizzes and songs, highlighted the importance of environmental protection and sustainable living.
A special feature of the celebration was tree plantation and the distribution of saplings among school students, encouraging them to nurture and protect the environment from an early age.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community and successfully reinforced the message that collective action is essential for building a greener, healthier and more sustainable future.
