This , UNOPS South Asia Multi-Country Office (SAMCO) is spotlighting climate-positive projects and the people driving sustainable change across Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Representing India is Sanjay Singh, Project Manager leading our circular economy initiative in Odisha. "Angul is home to some of India's heaviest industries — and we believe it can lead India's circular economy transition," says Sanjay. By identifying circularity gaps across Aluminium, Steel, Power, and Coal, and partnering with Municipalities to recycle plastic and rejuvenate water bodies, the project is proving that industry and environment can thrive together.

From supporting national climate commitments to transforming a major industrial hub into a model for resource efficiency, this initiative is laying the foundation for a sustainable, low-carbon future.
