For Rotarians, peace is not simply the absence of conflict. It is the presence of education, equity, health, and mutual respect. By addressing the root causes of conflict, such as poverty, illiteracy and disease, we build the foundations for Positive Peace in our neighbourhoods and across the world. Every service project we undertake is a step toward a more compassionate, connected world. On International PEACE DAY 21-09_2026 Rotary Club of AMELIA Kolkata successfully completed 11nos IOL Cataract Surgeries, in Phase -II operated at Shusrut Eye Foundation & Research Center Salt Lake. Eye Check up Camp was organised on 16th August, 2026 in association with Naba Jagrata Sangha Beleghata

Rotary Club of AMELIA Kolkata organised
a unique project of giving Scholarship to meritorious students coming from less privileged sections of society who in turn will again start giving Scholarship to new meritorious students coming from the same section. On 13-09-2026, MEDHA-BRITTI was organised at Rotary Sadan. Rtn Sucharita Roychoudhury, Secretary of AWEPI, Principal of Silver Point School & 1st Lady, RY 2027-28, RID 3291 & Mrs Rupa Majumdar & Dr Suvro Pahari Medha Britti Awardee just passed out this year & now at SSKM Hospital graced the occasion with their presence. Their speeches enlightened the students on how to navigate all obstacles and come out in a positive way. The programme started with Lightning the Lamp & offering flowers to Swami Mohananandaji Maharaj.
Rtn Nilanjan Mitra said, "Our main objective is to ensure that no student's dream is hampered due to lack of financial resources" for their higher studies.
Medha Britti was a #সাক্ষর প্রজেক্ট , A FLAGSHIPS PROJECT which RC Amelia will organise every year #দিল_সে
This year 47 students were awarded Sri Mohonananda Brahmachari Medha-Britti Scholarship, among them 23 female students, , students who cannot afford their studies, receiving the Scholarship for their higher studies, trying their best to adopt literacy in life & fulfil their dreams.Till now this project has developed 4419 successful students to achieve well establishment in society for the past 26 years across the Globe among them 24 Doctors & 47 Enginners well settled.

The theme of MEDHA-BRITTI was explained by me & our Club Literacy Chair PP Rtn Chandrima Das with a superbly articulated speech. Our PE Rtn Rajat Jha delivered the Formal Vote of Thanks. We are thankful to our MC Rtn Tanushree Mohanti for meticulously conducting the whole programme.

MONTRO "To Serve Living Beings As Shiva (God)"

On 08-09_2026 Rotary Club of AMELIA Kolkata successfully completed 10 nos IOL Cataract Surgeries, operated at Shusrut Eye Foundation & Research Center Salt Lake.
Eye Check up Camp was organised on the day of Rakha Bandhan 28th August, 2026 in association with Baldeopara Sarbajonin Durgotsov 2026.l
OUR motto is to encourage any noble cause for the well being of society and bring smile on the faces of the underprivileged section of the society.

We feel blessed to observe the ray of Hope in the sparkling eyes. We will be very happy to serve The Society like this in future also.
Our target 100 nos IOL Cataract Surgeries in this Rotary Year.

WHEELCHAIR DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME

On 6th September, 2026 evening, RC Amelia Kolkata handed over Wheelchairs at our RCC premises, MCS Institution, Harinavi to 2 Specially abled persons residing at Canning & Sonarpur.
Wheelchair is one of the most commonly used assistive devices to promote mobility and enhance quality of life for people who have difficulties in walking.
Special thanks to Rotary Children Welfare Trust for giving us the opportunity to distribute to the needy persons.
Out motto to serve the society which Creates Lasting Impact on the benificiaries.

RC Amelia Kolkata celebrated Teacher's Day Recognition programme at Jadavpur Bijoygarh Shikhaniketan School.
We felicitated 3 distinguished teachers & Principal of the School & Prof Ranjan of Heramba Chandra College, Golpark by President & Rtn SB Singh.

Teachers are felicitated to honor their immense contribution, dedication, and wisdom in shaping students' futures and building society. Felicitation ceremonies express gratitude, recognize hard work and achievements, inspire educators to continue their impactful work, and acknowledge the noble role teachers play as mentors and guiding lights. On 03_09_2026 Rotary Club of AMELIA Kolkata successfully completed 16 nos IOL Cataract Surgeries, operated at Shusrut Eye Foundation & Research Center Salt Lake.
Eye Check up Camp was organised in association with Beleghata NJS dated 16_08_2026 where Doctor advised & recommended Cataract operation needed for 27 beneficiaries.Today,1st phase IOL Cataract Operation completed with 16 nos beneficiaries of Underprivileged section of the Society.
On 04th September EYE CHECK UP DONE after Operation a Club Premises
OUR motto is to encourage any noble cause for the well being of society and bring smile on the faces of the underprivileged section of the society.

The Festival of Raksha Bandhan is observed as a Symbol of Duty Between Brothers and Sisters & Friends,
For Clear Vision Eye Check Up Camp for Cataract/IOL Surgeries With the help of & Research Center 63 nos benificiaries tested their Eyes , where 27 nos Patients Detected for Cataract Operation. Which will be operated on 8th September, 2026. We tried to help the people from the under privileged section of Society & feel blessed to help some poor people to improve their eyesight for healthy vision.

Rotary Club Of AMELIA Kolkata inaugurated a Need based sustainable Vocational
1) -4 & _Up Training Course Part –II ‘at our RCC premises –MCS Institution, Harinavi, S 24 Pgs, where 23 nos Women started their Vocational Training classes for 2 months in association with BIBISHYA MEMORIAL TRUST. This will definitely help to get accommodated in their future endeavours

2) : 19 nos Completion Certificate Vocational TAILORING Training Workshop"রোশনী সূচী-শিল্প4 distributed by Maharaj.
We feel indebted to Mr Tapan Kr Nath the pillar of strength behind our RCC, MCS Institution Without his help these projects could not be possible.
Also Food Packets were distributed We will be very happy to serve The Society like this in future also
This is a long term benefit of the women of the community throughout the Year. This project changed the lives of women creating an impact in society & giving us the Opportunity to serve the Society daily basis & Create Lasting Impact to the underprivileged Section of the Society with Empowering Women & Economic Development.

-3: 3rd _Blood_Donation Camp, for Support to Thallesemic Children on 16-08-2026 organised in association with “Nabo Jagrata Sangha, Beleghata". Total number of 27 Units Blood collected, where 9 nos females donated Blood. With this Blood we can support 81 Underprivileged Theallasemic Children and handed over the Blood cards to Thalleseamic Guardian’s association . For a thalassemic person to survive regular blood transfusions is an absolute necessity. Many thalassemia patients depend on blood transfusions to survive and thrive and we are so grateful to each and every blood donor and to those who organize blood drives. Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to help save lives. In fact, each pint of blood donated can save up to three lives!

- General Check-up: BP, Height, Weight, Sugar Test, ECG
- Medical Consultation by Doctors where 89 nos Beneficiaries availed the full body check-up.
2) Special Tests by LIV Gastro Health Care:
- LFT Test: SGOT, SGPT
- FIB-4 Index: AST, ALT, Platelet Count
- Body Composition Analysis: BMI, Skeletal Muscle Mass %, Resting Metabolism %, Body Fat %, Visceral Fat % where 53 nos checked & examined
