The Archana Sharma Foundation of Calcutta, a registered Society of the West Bengal Societies registration act 1961, was founded by Professor Arun Kumar Sharma in the year 2009. Besides publishing the journal "The Nucleus" with Springer-Nature as the co-publisher, there are a number of objectives with which the society members also involved such as conducting annual memorial orations, other lecture
s, if any throughout the year, seminars and symposia singly or with the collaboration of the Department of Botany, other scientific bodies, societies both Internationally and Nationally. The society publishes its activities which comes out in print during the time of the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The society members are also involved in contributing donations to help the poor and needy students, especially for their studies through Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Kolkata.
