The shelters and NGOs in India have been struggling to care for rescue dogs as it stands. The idea of safely evacuating 1 million strays in 8 weeks is absolutely unfeasible. Moreover, stray dogs face a higher risk of being traded for dog-meat than finding a sanctuary. Have we become so heartless as to support mass euthanasia fueled by hatred? Why should dogs bear the brunt of years of governmental negligence, mismanagement and ineptitude?
