🌿✨Celebrating World Environment Day: Our Impactful Actions! ✨🌎

On this special day, our alumni members, came together to make a difference and contribute to the preservation of our planet. Despite facing various challenges, our collective efforts have left a positive mark. Let's take a glimpse into the activities our members carried out:

1️⃣ Starting with a Clean-up Drive Miss Twinkle Basumatary dedicated her time to clean a 1400 sq ft. area in an apartment at Juripar Path, Guwahati. She diligently disposed of waste, even collecting litter near the trash bin.
2️⃣ At No. 3 Borigaon L.P. School, Udalguri Mr. Chandra Bahadur Darji together with students, teachers, and villagers planted a variety of local trees and flowers, including Mango, Jackfruit, Jamun, Banana, Bakul etc. According to him it's essential to nurture nature and raise awareness to combat climate change and mitigate habitat loss.
3️⃣ In Kokrajhar, Ward No. 10, Miss Tanushree Basumatary planted a Krishnasura tree (Delonix sp.) in her backyard.
4️⃣ At Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Barpeta, Satra Baradi, Miss Bhupamani Choudhury along with teachers and students planted Devadaru (Polyalthia sp.) trees.
5️⃣ Mr. Gwshad Basumatary actively participated in a plantation program organized by a local SHG in Daukibari village, Kokrajhar.
6️⃣ Mrs. Babita Brahma successfully replanted Terminalis catappa at Barama, Baksa in her home backyard.
7️⃣ Despite an emergency situation, Miss Nibedita Brahma planted a Fern tree (Jacaranda mimosifolia) in her backyard in Rowta Chariali, Udalguri.
8️⃣ Miss Laimumuti Brahma also planted Areca catechu in her home backyard at Rangalikhata, Kokrajhar.

There exist numerous alumni members Mr. Anup Kumar Saha, Mr. Derhasat Basumatary, Mrs. Gauri Rani Baglary and Mr. Jyoti Prasad Goswami who engaged in significant activities but due to constraints, their activities could not be mentioned in this post.

However, let's continue working together to protect and cherish our planet every day, making each action count towards a sustainable future. 🌿💚

"Creating Change Close to Home! 🌍💚 Today, the passionate alumni members of Botany Department Alumni Association, Bodoland University united by their commitment to environmental preservation, participated in a plastic clean-up drive and tree plantation event in their own surroundings. 🌿 Share and Connect - A Knowledge Exchange Meet 🌿

We are thrilled to announce the successful one-day event organized by the Botany Department Alumni Association of Bodoland University! On the 13th of April, 2023, we had the privilege of hosting a fascinating gathering of students, alumni, and esteemed speakers. The theme for this event was "Share and Connect - A Knowledge Exchange Meet," which aimed to inspire curiosity, and ignite a passion for lifelong learning.

The event began with great enthusiasm as students and participants gathered in the event hall, eager to absorb the wisdom shared by our esteemed speakers. We were honored to have Prof. Sandeep Das, the Head of the Biotechnology Department of Bodoland University, delivered a captivating lecture on Entrepreneurship Development. Prof. Das's extensive knowledge and experience in the field left the audience inspired, urging them to consider innovative avenues and pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

In addition to Prof. Sandeep Das, we had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Indra Bhusan Basumatary, a brilliant PhD Scholar from the CIT, Kokrajhar (Central Institute of Technology). Mr. Basumatary delivered an enlightening lecture on Nanocomposite Films or Coatings, unraveling the mysteries of this cutting-edge field.

The event was marked by an engaging Q&A session where students actively participated, seeking clarity and deeper insights into the topics discussed. It was heartening to witness the genuine enthusiasm and eagerness of the students to expand their understanding.

This event serves as a reminder of the power of sharing knowledge and connecting with like-minded individuals. We firmly believe that events like these lay the foundation for personal growth, academic excellence, and professional success.

🌿 1st Alumni Meet of the Botany Department - A Memorable Reunion 🌿

We are delighted to share the joy and success of the 1st Alumni Meet of the Botany Department at Bodoland University, organized by the Botany Department Alumni Association. On the 17th of December, 2021, our alma mater witnessed a heartwarming gathering of alumni, faculty, and distinguished guests for a day filled with nostalgia, inspiration, and camaraderie.

The event commenced with great anticipation as we welcomed our esteemed chief guest, Dr. Manjil Basumatary, the Academic Registrar of Bodoland University. Dr. Basumatary's presence added a touch of distinction to the occasion, inspiring us with his insightful words and invaluable guidance. His words echoed the spirit of unity and progress that we, as alumni, strive to uphold.

We were honored to have Dr. Ananta Swargiary and Dr. Khangembam Bronson Kumar, both Assistant Professors from the Zoology Department at Bodoland University, as special guests. Their presence reinforced the strong bond between the various departments within our university, promoting a sense of collaboration and shared growth.

The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the heartfelt speeches delivered by our alumni members. It was a moment of immense pride as they shared their remarkable life experiences, highlighting the impact of their education in the Botany Department on their personal and professional journeys. Their stories were a testament to the quality education and nurturing environment provided by Bodoland University.

To infuse the event with an extra dose of joy, dance performances were organized to showcase the talents of our students. The performances not only entertained us but also served as a reminder of the cultural richness nurtured within our department.

The event concluded on a high note with a delicious lunch, where alumni and faculty members had the opportunity to reconnect, reminisce, and forge new friendships. The laughter, conversations, and shared memories created an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie that will be cherished for years to come.
