Phase IV of the RMLCF Tobacco-Free Campaign brought together 404 students and teachers from 20 schools, each one taking a step toward a more informed future.

This wasn’t just about awareness, but about understanding choices. Students engaged, asked questions, shared ideas, and showed that they’re ready to think for themselves and make decisions that protect their health.

A strong reminder that real change begins when young people are given the knowledge, and choose to act on it.

Phase IV of the RMLCF Tobacco-Free Campaign was successfully held on 24th April 2026 at Kevilhouü Rio Auditorium, G. Rio School.

With participation from 20 schools (2 government, 18 private), the programme brought together 369 students and 35 teachers (totalling 404 participants, the highest recorded so far), reflecting a strong collective stand toward a tobacco-free future.

Rooted in the belief that real change begins with disciplined communities and strong institutions, this initiative highlights the vital role of schools and educators in shaping healthier generations. By coming together, we are not only spreading awareness but actively working to prevent tobacco-related cancer.

A tobacco-free future is built through consistent education, collective action, and a shared sense of duty. Phase IV was more than participation, it was a movement driven by schools, guided by educators, and sustained by a community that refuses to accept preventable loss as inevitable.

The Rev. Moa Longchari Cancer Foundation (RMLCF) Executive Members held our first meeting of the year, and we are truly encouraged by the meaningful discussions and plans set in motion for the months ahead.

We remain deeply grateful for the achievements of the past year and the unwavering support that made them possible. As we step into this new season, we are committed to serving the cancer community with even greater dedication, and impact.

Here’s to doing better, together.

FREE CANCER SCREENING

Early detection saves lives and it starts with one simple step.
RMLCF, in collaboration with Putuonuo Hospital and Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation, is hosting a Free Cancer Screening Clinic every Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm because we believe no one should lose their life to late detection.

Many cancers show little to no symptoms in the early stages. Screening can detect changes before they become life-threatening giving you the best chance at successful treatment and recovery.

Don’t wait for pain. Don’t wait for signs.
Take charge of your health today.

Your life is precious. Get screened.

This World Cancer Day, RMLCF stands united with Putuonuo Hospital under the theme “United by Unique.”

Cancer does not affect one life the same way it affects another but what unites us is our responsibility to care. We are deeply grateful to our partner hospital for reinforcing the critical importance of early detection and for sharing a commitment to serve our community.

As Dr. Keduovinuo reminds us, “We need to unite ourselves so that we can optimise the care and the love we give to them (cancer patients).”

This is not a message meant only for organisations or healthcare workers. It is a call to every one of us. Early screening can save lives. Awareness can change outcomes. Compassion can restore hope.

Today, choose to act; get screened, encourage someone you love to do the same, and stand with those fighting cancer. When a community comes together, care becomes stronger, earlier and more humane. This is how we stay United by Unique ❤️

As the holiday season arrives; a time of warmth, celebration, and togetherness, many of our cancer patients will be spending Christmas within hospital walls. Our hearts are with every patient walking this journey with quiet strength. We invite you to remember them in your prayers, sending love, hope, and healing their way.

This season, the RMLCF team visited our partner hospitals in Kohima to share home-baked cookies and offer a simple prayer of hope and healing. Just a small gesture, shared with love, to remind them that they are thought of, cared for, and deeply valued.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. 🤍🎄
