In observance of Fire Service Week (April 14–20, 2026) under the theme "Safe School, Safe Hospital, and Fire Safety Aware Society – Together for Fire Prevention," Fire Station Kiphire conducted a fire and evacuation drill at Agape Higher Secondary School.
This drill highlighted the importance of fire safety, prepared participants, and familiarized them with emergency evacuation procedures for real disasters.
Fire has emerged as a major disaster and daily challenge in our lives, making it essential to keep workplaces safe and create secure environments for buildings and occupants. Installing fixed firefighting systems in schools, hospitals, and offices must be a top priority.
The Nagaland Fire & Emergency Services remains committed to building a safer society.

A tragic accident Call On 26 March 2026, around 2:30 pm at Meriema Basa (Nagaland), two male daily‑wage workers from the Kachari tribe fell into a ring well while cleaning it. Emergency teams—Nagaland Fire & Emergency Services, NDRF and SDRF—worked jointly and recovered the bodies at about 5:30 pm. The men were pronounced dead at the scene.

A jungle fire broke out below the 14th IR Camp, Okhizong, Kiphire, at approximately 11:20 AM on 10th March 2026. The fire, caused by slash burning of trees for Jhum cultivation, spread towards the Officer's Mess and MT Garage. Fire personnel from Kiphire Fire Station promptly diverted and contained the fire effectively.
