World Healthcare Quality Professionals Day (WHQPD), observed every year on 7th January, is a global platform to recognize, celebrate, and strengthen the vital role of healthcare quality professionals in advancing safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

January 7th commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Avedis Donabedian, the Father of Healthcare Quality, whose timeless Structure–Process–Outcome model continues to guide quality, safety, and performance improvement in healthcare worldwide.

This logo represents more than a symbol — it reflects a global movement to recognize, connect, and celebrate healthcare quality professionals, the silent champions working behind the scenes to strengthen systems, enhance patient safety, improve outcomes, and drive patient-centered care.

AHQP (Association for Healthcare Quality Professionals) will be launching a dedicated webpage in the coming days, where downloadable WHQPD logos will be made available for healthcare organizations and professionals worldwide.

We strongly encourage healthcare organizations to proudly use the logo every 7th of January to celebrate and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of their healthcare quality professionals.
Looking ahead, AHQP will also be launching a series of activities and awards for WHQPD 2026, aimed at recognizing excellence, innovation, and leadership in healthcare quality.
