SBV family at Trippunithura mourns the SivaLokaPrapthi of our dear Kulatthu Maama🙏🏻🙏🏻

Sri S. Kulathu Iyer (91) attained satgati at the lotus feet of God, today (Aug 4) at his residence.

Throughout his life, even as a nonageneraian despite his deteriorating health conditions , he had been continuing his regular bhajans at the Tripunithura Madappilly Samooha Madom, Namadwar, and all temples in Tripunithura, all through the week, until recent times.

In recognition of his devotion and commitment to Naama Sankeertanam, Sampradaya Bhajana Vidyalayam had honoured him with the title 'Naama Prachaara Ratna' in 2013. Sri Kulathu Iyer, along with late R Gopalakrishna Iyer were the first recipients of this title in the first Bhajanotsavam ever conducted by Sampradaya Bhajana Vidyalayam.

Such was Kulathu mama's commitment to bhajan that he was extremely particular to always start on time, and seldom had he missed a bhajan. Rain or shine, light or dark, he would tirelessly walk his way to attend all Bhajans without fail.

Mama always sang very familiar and simple namavalees, in a distinct and booming voice, making it easy even for laymen to follow and sing along.

SBV feels grateful that we were able to be associated with Sri Kulathu mama, and offer our namaskarams to the departed soul.

Sri Kulathu Mama will always be remembered for his sincerity, commitment and devotion.

Ram Ram.

Sampradaya Bhajan has a place for all spiritual traditions. Aadu paambe is usually rendered towards the end of the deepa pradakshinam. What is the significance? In Indian spiritual traditions—particularly within Tamil Siddha literature—the refrain "Aadu Paampe" (meaning "Dance, O Snake!" or "Dance, Thou Cobra!") carries deep esoteric significance. It is the signature refrain used at the end of every verse composed by Pambatti Siddhar (one of the revered 18 Siddhars or Tamil mystic sages).

While appearing outwardly as a snake charmer singing to a cobra, the poem is a powerful spiritual allegory for mind control, inner energy transformation, and liberation.
