Promoting women’s mental health is an important focus at Mehac Foundation. Through relatable stories, shared experiences and discussions, our sessions encourage women to engage and recognise that it is okay to prioritise their health and seek help.
Here, an Anganwadi teacher reflects on ‘Sandhya’, a character inspired by real life. Her heartfelt response highlights the community’s need and readiness for such conversations.

World Su***de Prevention Day 2026 :Changing the narrative begins with a conversation .

29/08/2026

As part of our continuing efforts to strengthen awareness around su***de prevention, Mehac Foundation conducted an interactive session for first year students at Ahalia School of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad. The session explored warning signs, risk factors, recognising when someone may be at risk and offering responsible support as a peer. Students participated openly, approaching the discussion with empathy, a non-judgemental attitude and an understanding grounded more in facts than myths.
Based on the students’ responses, the facilitators observed a strong willingness to stand by and actively support a friend experiencing difficulties. The discussion also highlighted the importance of going beyond peer support by helping a friend reach a trusted adult or professional when needed.
