He was good in curricular and extra curricular activities. He was an outstanding swimmer and also represented the School basket ball team. In August, 2009, he joined Amity University, Noida for a dual degree course in Aerospace engineering and avionics. Exactly one month after joining, his parents received a call, a heart rending one from the university authorities informing me that Justin died, f
ollowing a cardiac arrest while swimming. After the incident University officials were in a hurry to conduct post mortem before the arrival of parents or relatives. According to the first autopsy “cause of death is asphyxia as a result of drowning”. A Second autopsy which took place in Kerala revealed many shocking facts including internal injuries in many parts of the body. It also proved that the first autopsy which was carried out at the behest of University authorities was improper and suppressing vital information about the cause of death. A writ petition, W.P.(C) No.1312 of 2010, was filed requesting proper investigation of the case, before the Hon. High court of Kerala . There are many aspects which raises suspicion regarding the cause of death of Justin.Justin's parents and friends strongly believe that the Amity university authorities are intentionally misleading or suppressing the facts related to the death of Justin John, in order to protect the reputation of University. On 17th September, the Hon. High Court of Kerala ordered CBI investigation. Political and financial influence of the Amity University authorities may influence the further investigation of this case.
