The Lorekeepers archive is back!

Sung by Kumaramputhur Mani, this Porattapattu from Palakkadu traces a girl’s journey after marriage.

Porattu means purathulla aattam; a performance done outside. Excluded from temples, it found its place in fields and courtyards, performed before deities like Kali, Kuli, and Kandakarnan.

This catchy counting song was passed down from Raghavan Master's mother in Kozhikode. Each verse uses the same lyrics but changes a single word with a number, from one to ten!

Know a Parvathy who would love this?🥰 Tag them below and share the song with them! ⬇️ Support the cause.
