Aster Volunteers - Aid Aster DM Healthcare has been conceived around the core principle that ‘good health and wellbeing are the birthrights of everyone’.

Dr. Moopen’s Foundation,the non-profit charitable and philanthropic arm of Aster DM Healthcare, the leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East and India, has been conceived by the visionary Dr. Azad Moopen, a physician turned entrepreneur. Dr. Moopen’s Foundation is the broad umbrella under which the philanthropic initiatives of DM Healthcare and Dr Azad Moopen’s Family are being carried out, through different vehicles- DM Foundation, Dr Moopen’s Family Foundation and Naseera& Moopen Foundation. Instead of adhering to conventional CSR initiatives like donating to fundraising campaigns, DM Foundation adopts a holistic and noble approach and undertakes wide-ranging activities from educational scholarships and empowering women to adopting a whole village. Reaching out to the needy through diverse programmes, DM Foundation has initiated a range of activities under the motto ‘Healing Touch’. Some of the ongoing activities of the Foundation include the establishment of Community Dialysis Centres, Cancer Radiation Centres, Early Cancer Detection Centres, Free Paediatric and Adult Cardiac Surgeries, establishment of Special Needs Schools, etc. The Foundation and Charities work in tandem with sister organizations like MIMS Charitable Trust and Social Advancement Foundation of India and in association with Non-Governmental Organizations.

A New Rhythm of Hope" Ms. Fathimath Fahima an 11-year-old girl from Uduma, Kasaragod, was diagnosed with congenital heart disease and successfully underwent surgical treatment at Aster Medcity. She was identified through the Pediatric Cardiac Camp conducted in Kasaragod.

Fathimath lives with her parents and siblings in a tiny house. Her father, a daily wage worker and the sole earning member of the family, found it difficult to manage the treatment expenses alongside the family’s daily needs.

Through the Aster Allana Initiative, the Aster DM Foundation* extended financial support towards her treatment, easing the family’s financial burden and helping them navigate this challenging journey with greater hope.

Together, we can give every child the chance to grow with a healthier heart and a brighter future. ❤️

When children see clearly, they learn better, dream bigger, and step forward with confidence. Through the Aster “Clear Sight” Project, we distributed 34 high-quality spectacles to children in the Ernakulam sub-district, helping bring clarity not just to their vision, but to their learning journey.

'Because Every Little Heart Matters "

Ms. Fathima Zahwa k, a 4-year-old girl from Mulleriya, Kasaragod, was diagnosed with congenital heart disease and successfully underwent surgery at Aster Medcity. She was identified through the Pediatric Cardiology Medical Camp conducted in Kasaragod.

Her father, a salesman and the sole earning member of the family, faced financial difficulties in meeting the cost of her treatment.

Through the Aster Allana Initiative, Fathima received her cardiac surgery completely free of cost, ensuring that financial constraints did not stand in the way of the care she needed.

Today, a healthier heart carries the promise of a brighter childhood !!!

Every Child Deserves to Thrive: A New Step Towards Inclusive Developmental Care"

Aster Sick Kids Foundation, in collaboration with Aster Medcity, has launched a new initiative to ensure accessible and inclusive healthcare for children with developmental needs.

As part of this initiative, monthly Developmental Paediatric consultations have commenced at 'Children’s Village, Child Development Centre, Koonammavu."

The first clinic was led by Dr. Leuvenya Gunasekaran, Developmental Paediatrician, Aster Medcity who provided comprehensive developmental assessments and medical guidance to 6 children. !!!

Timely and specialised developmental care is crucial for every child's growth journey....

Equipping everyday heroes with the power to save lives"

Aster DM Foundation, together with Aster Medcity successfully hosted a hands-on Basic Life Support (BLS) workshop for 125 incredible staff members at Peace Valley Rehabilitation Center, Kothamangalam.

Through interactive simulations and practical training with mannequins, the team mastered critical emergency responses like CPR and choking management.

Master Adhvik, a 4-year-old boy from Pattambi, Palakkad, was admitted at Aster Medcity with a heart condition and successfully underwent surgery.

His father, a daily wage worker and the sole earning member of the family, struggled to manage the cost of treatment alongside the family’s daily needs.

Through the Heart to Heart Initiative, the Aster DM Foundation supported Adhvik’s treatment, enabling him to undergo the surgery free of cost and easing the family’s financial burden.

Together, we can create healthier tomorrows for every child.

SAATHI"– Screening and Awareness against Tobacco-associated Head & Neck Illness for Migrant Workers.

Aster DM Foundation has launched a unique initiative SAATHI in association with CMID – Centre for Migration and Inclusive Development at Perumbavoor.

The first screening camp under the project was conducted yesterday evening at Bandhu' Shramik Seva Kendra, Bengali Market, Perumbavoor, Ernakulam.

A total of 47 migrant workers underwent preliminary screening, out of which 1 case was identified positive and 2 suspected cases were referred for detailed biopsy.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Shawn T. Joseph, Senior Consultant & Program Director – Head and Neck Oncology Network, Kerala Cluster, and Dr. Karunya R. Gopal, Associate Consultant, Aster Medcity, for their voluntary support and commitment to the initiative.

This program aims to create awareness on tobacco-related health hazards and ensure early detection of head and neck illnesses among the migrant community.

'Merit Award & Appreciation Programme for Children in Child Care Institutions – Ernakulam"

Celebrating Excellence, Inspiring Futures !!!

Aster DM Foundation, in association with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Ernakulam, jointly organized the Merit Award & Appreciation Programme to recognize the academic achievements of children residing in Child Care Institutions (CCIs).

The programme celebrated students who excelled in SSLC and Higher Secondary examinations, acknowledging their hard work, dedication and commitment to education.

As part of the initiative, 120 meritorious students were honoured with mementos, certificates and inspiring reading books to encourage them to pursue their educational journey with greater confidence and determination.

The programme was inaugurated by Shri. Roji M. John, Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education, Govt. of Kerala, and presided over by Smt. Priyanka G., District Collector, Ernakulam.
