Dr. Moopen’s Foundation,the non-profit charitable and philanthropic arm of Aster DM Healthcare, the leading healthcare conglomerate in the Middle East and India, has been conceived by the visionary Dr. Azad Moopen, a physician turned entrepreneur. Dr. Moopen’s Foundation is the broad umbrella under which the philanthropic initiatives of DM Healthcare and Dr Azad Moopen’s Family are being carried o

ut, through different vehicles- DM Foundation, Dr Moopen’s Family Foundation and Naseera& Moopen Foundation. Instead of adhering to conventional CSR initiatives like donating to fundraising campaigns, DM Foundation adopts a holistic and noble approach and undertakes wide-ranging activities from educational scholarships and empowering women to adopting a whole village. Reaching out to the needy through diverse programmes, DM Foundation has initiated a range of activities under the motto ‘Healing Touch’. Some of the ongoing activities of the Foundation include the establishment of Community Dialysis Centres, Cancer Radiation Centres, Early Cancer Detection Centres, Free Paediatric and Adult Cardiac Surgeries, establishment of Special Needs Schools, etc. The Foundation and Charities work in tandem with sister organizations like MIMS Charitable Trust and Social Advancement Foundation of India and in association with Non-Governmental Organizations.

Mrs. Sainaba Basheer, a 62-year-old female, was admitted at Aster Medcity for cancer treatment and underwent the required investigations.

She resides with her husband, son, and his family in an interior area of Muvattupuzha. Her husband and son works as daily wage labourers, earning a modest income and serving as the sole breadwinners for the family.

Recognizing the family’s financial constraints, Aster DM Foundation extended its support by covering a significant portion of the treatment expenses through the Aster Allana Initiatives.

Aster Sick Kids (ASK) Foundation, in association with the Lions Club of Palakkad Heritage City, Organises Mega Multi-Specialty Pediatric Camp

Senior consultants from Aster Medcity, Kochi, led the camp, which benefited 55 underprivileged children. Most of the children were referred for surgical and advanced medical management at Aster Medcity with financial support from the ASK Foundation.

Ms. Ananya C.P., a 15-year-old girl, was admitted at Aster Medcity for knee surgery and successfully undergone surgical management.

She lives with her parents and sister in a single-storied concrete house in North Paravoor, Ernakulam district. Her father, a daily wage worker with a modest income, is the sole breadwinner of the family, making it challenging to meet the medical expenses.

Recognizing their hardship, ASK Foundation extended generous support by covering a decent portion of the treatment costs, bringing relief and hope to the family during this critical time.

A daily wage worker by profession, he lives with his wife and two children in a remote area of Pazhuvil, Thrissur district. As the only earning member of the family, he faces the challenge of supporting his household with a limited income.

Understanding the family’s difficult financial situation, Aster DM Foundation stepped forward to offer meaningful support by covering a major portion of the treatment expenses through the Aster Allana initiative. This compassionate gesture provided the family with much-needed relief and renewed hope during a challenging time.

She lives with her parents and sister in a small house in three cents of land at Mulankunnathukavu, Thrissur district. Her father, an auto driver, and the sole breadwinner of the family, earearned a modest income.

Understanding the financial difficulties faced by the family, the Aster DM Foundation provided complete support by covering the full cost of Aasritha’s life-saving surgery.

Mr. Abdul Rahman, a 60-year-old resident of Perumana, faced a significant setback when he suffered a stroke last year. The illness left him physically weak and unable to continue his regular work, impacting his family's financial stability.

With his daughters settled and his income dwindling, Mr. Rahman and his wife struggled to make ends meet. However, with the support of Aster Volunteers Malabar and DM Foundation, a small petty shop was established for him in Perumana, providing a steady source of income and restoring dignity to their lives

In view of the family’s financial constraints, Aster DM Foundation provided full financial support for the life-saving surgery under the Aster Allana Initiative ensuring the child received timely and necessary treatment without any financial burden.
