SAIK is excited to launch its Knowledge Hub – a platform to help our members strengthen their understanding and expertise across business, technology, operations, and other allied fields.

We’re kicking things off with our first session this month:

We’re excited to share that SAIK successfully completed its 19th Kochi Chapter Meeting on June 7th, 2025.

We had the pleasure of hosting Mr.Tom Thomas, Chief Operating Officer at , who shared his insightful thoughts on innovation, collaboration, and growth opportunities in Kerala’s AVGC-XR sector. His presence added great value to the discussions and inspired us all.

We look forward to building on this momentum and working closely with to drive Kerala’s creative economy to new heights. Stay tuned for more updates!

On May 27th, 2025, Kerala Startup Mission, Kalamassery, hosted an exciting edition of Dev Day—an initiative by GDAI, powered by Krafton, with Playsuper as Associate Sponsor. Kerala Startup Mission and SAIK proudly served as Knowledge Partners, helping make the event a huge success.

With over 70 participants from diverse tech and creative backgrounds, this marked the third time Dev Day was held in Kerala, and it once again exceeded expectations. Kochi was among the select few Indian cities chosen by GDAI to host this event, highlighting Kerala’s growing game development ecosystem.

The day featured inspiring keynotes, hands-on sessions, project showcases, and lively discussions from industry leaders likeAnuj Sahani (Krafton), Abhir Das (Playsuper), Prince Thomas (MetaShot), Dr. Jake Koshy (Norian Games), and panel discussions featuring Mukesh Dev (CEO & Founder, Banzan Studio), Jim Jose (CEO & Founder, Dynamic Next), Tom Thomas (COO, KSUM), Jayraj G (Director, CDIT), Anando Banerjee (Lakshya Digital), Fr. Dr. Jaison Paul Mulerikkal (Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology), and Prannay Suvarnaa (Women in Games). Each speaker and panelist brought a unique perspective that made every session resonate.

We at SAIK are deeply grateful to GDAI, especially Machaiah Kalengada, for making us a Knowledge Partner in this extraordinary journey. Dev Day Kochi is no longer just an event—it’s a dynamic platform that fuels innovation, sparks connections, and inspires the developer community to dream big. These words from the Hon’ble Prime Minister perfectly captured the spirit of World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, India’s pioneering international event dedicated to the audio-visual, media, entertainment, and AVGC-XR sectors — hosted at the iconic Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.

WAVES 2025 brought together the country’s most dynamic as well as diverse voices in content creation, technology, policy, and entrepreneurship — igniting dialogue, collaboration, and vision for India’s role in the global Orange Economy.

As a state with a thriving and forward-looking digital creative ecosystem, Kerala is proud to have been part of this landmark event. It was a powerful platform to connect, share, and contribute to the collective journey of India's cultural and creative industries.

In Loving Memory of Shaji N. Karun (1952–2025)

Today, we at the SAIK - Society of AVGC-XR Institutions in Kerala mourn the loss of a visionary whose legacy transcends cinema.

Shaji N. Karun was more than a filmmaker; he was a cultural architect who shaped the soul of Malayalam cinema and championed the integration of emerging media technologies. His films—Piravi, Swaham, Vanaprastham—not only garnered international acclaim, including recognition at Cannes, but also redefined the narrative of Indian storytelling on the global stage.

As the founding chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy and later as the chairman of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation, Shaji sir was instrumental in formulating Kerala’s AVGC XR Policy. His unwavering support and visionary leadership laid the foundation for a thriving creative ecosystem in the state. His recent recognition with the JC Daniel Award in 2023 stands as a testament to his lifelong dedication to the arts.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the countless artists he inspired.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire future generations.
