We began with what we knew—frisbee.
But the children showed us what they loved.

We listened, adapted, and let play lead the way. From frisbee to dodgeball, and eventually to mixed rugby, every change was driven by one simple question:

What brings these children together?

The sport changed. The purpose never did.

Play. Learn. Belong.

⚽ Beyond the Wall.

By early 2023, more children from the settlement had become part of our daily play sessions.

Every day, they could hear the sounds of laughter and sport coming from the neighbouring Play Arena. For many of them, stepping inside was a dream.

So we made a promise.

If they showed up consistently, learned to resolve conflicts peacefully, and chose kinder words, we’d take them there.

Over the next three months, they did just that.

Attendance improved. Fights reduced. Small changes became big victories.

In March 2023, we kept our promise.

For the first time, the children walked through the gates of Play Arena. We played, explored, laughed, shared snacks, and created memories that still stay with us today.

Sometimes, the biggest milestone isn’t winning a game.

Sometimes, it’s simply opening a gate that once felt impossible to cross.

🌈 Where it all began.

In June 2022, a simple game of catch changed everything.

While playing with friends at a nearby ground in Bengaluru, Peter noticed a group of children playing in a small open space outside their settlement.

The next day, he returned with a frisbee.

There were no plans, no funding proposals, and no roadmap—just curiosity, connection, and 6–8 children eager to play.

What began with a few throws and a lot of laughter became the start of something special.

Sometimes, all it takes is showing up.

When we started our classroom, we asked the kids what a school should have. One child immediately said, “punishment stick.” Another said “birdhouse,” so the next few sessions became less about English and more about trying to build a birdhouse inside the classroom.

Historic day at .play_org 💚

We hosted our first ever Parents Meeting and it was not just a regular meeting, it was a call to team up.

Today we celebrated the children.
Their efforts, their learning and the beautiful progress they have made so far. Seeing the pride in the parents eyes while hearing about their children’s journey was truly heartwarming!

But this meeting was also about something BIGGER!

It was an invitation to parents to walk this journey with us, to bring their positive energy, their dreams and their voices into this process.
We spoke, we listened, we asked questions and we heard wonderful thoughts about what parents hope their children will become in the future.

What made today even more special was that the parents gathered with so much enthusiasm, shared their perspectives and even showed interest in volunteering and supporting the mission of

This was only the beginning
A small but powerful step

Our Parents Meeting will now happen every month and today’s first gathering went beyond our expectations.

Sometimes the most important thing is simply to begin…
and today, something beautiful began.

For the children

For their future 🌱
