A Celebration of Nature Conservation and Togetherness🌸

Warm greetings on this auspicious occasion of Onam! It's a time to extend heartfelt wishes for a festive season filled with joy and harmony. Onam not only marks the vibrant culture of Kerala but also reminds us of the importance of nature conservation and community spirit.

In the realm of nature conservation, we find the essence of sustainability and the availability of necessities that enrich the lives of Keralites. How do we bring this significance to the forefront in today's world?

Simultaneously, Onam is a unique celebration where Keralites come together to cherish their own festival, an endeavor that protects the Earth. Let's keep environmental conversations alive, foster happiness, and embrace unity, contributing to a greener and incredible India.

May this Onam be a source of inspiration for us to nurture our planet and celebrate our togetherness.

📰| Himachal Rains: 78 Dead, Thousands Affected | IGC Urges Safety and Support

The recent heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh have left a trail of devastation, causing extensive damage to property and infrastructure and resulting in tragic loss of life. The torrential rains have triggered landslides and flash floods, severing roads and communication lines across the state.

Tragically, the death toll from the ongoing rains has reached 78, with numerous individuals still missing and feared dead. The districts of Kullu, Shimla, and Chamba have borne the brunt of this disaster, grappling with obliterated roads, collapsed bridges, and ravaged homes. The downpours have further disrupted power supplies and communication networks.

With the rains forecasted to continue, the Indian Green Council (IGC) is deeply concerned and issues an earnest appeal to the public to exercise caution and avoid areas susceptible to flooding. In unity, we beseech the government to take swift action to mitigate the harm and extend relief to affected communities.

🛟 Safety Tips for the Monsoon Season:
• Prioritize safety by avoiding travel during heavy rainfall.
• Stay informed about weather forecasts and road conditions if travel is unavoidable.
• Recognize signs of landslides or flash floods and take immediate protective action.
• Refrain from crossing flooded rivers or streams.
• Remain vigilant of loose rocks and debris on roads.
• If a landslide or flash flood strikes, promptly move to higher ground.

IGC continues to heighten awareness regarding the interconnectedness of climate change and the monsoon season's impact. Amid this crisis, we are dedicated to supporting the recovery efforts and collaborating with government bodies and organizations for swift and effective relief.
