Community based screening (CBS) Health camp, held on 24th March 2026 at Deomali successfully conducted by Care Me Home Ti project in colcollaboration with sampoorna suraksha kendra(SSK),Khonsa and Deomali ICTC Staff.
The program was conducted in 3 various Rehabilitation centres. Dr.K. Thingnok and counsellors from both Khonsa and Deomali ICTC had given immense efforts into bringing the program to a success.
Many tests and counselling were provided by the team to enhance the knowledge regarding various STI Diseases.
Overall,the initiative reflects a strong and collective efforts towards providing public health,strengthening community outreach and reinforcing the importance of timely medical intervention and awareness.

Charju , on 11/03/2026: Visit by Dr. Komling Perme, Joint Director (P/D) cm SPO, DHS, APDDAS, to Care Me Home Sudhaar Ghar, Charju. BLACK BALLOON DAY

On 6th March 2026, Care Me Home Sudhaar Ghar, Charju, Tirap District, Arunachal Pradesh joined the international observance of Black Balloon Day. This day is dedicated to remembering people who have lost their lives due to drug overdose and fentanyl poisoning.
The day reminds us of the serious impact of substance use and encourages society to show compassion and support to individuals and families affected by this problem.
In the presence of patients, recovery brothers, and staff members, Care Me Home Sudhaar Ghar observed two minutes of silence and held a candlelight tribute to honor the lives lost due to drug overdose.
This moment allowed everyone to remember those who are no longer with us and strengthened our commitment towards recovery, awareness, and living a drug-free life.
Let us come together to fight this disease and build a drug-free society.

40th Statehood Day Celebration 2026 at Nehru Stadium, Khonsa

Khonsa, 20 February 2026:
Care Me Home Sudhaar Ghar, Charju and the Targeted Intervention Project, Khonsa, under the initiative of Care Me Home Welfare Society, proudly participated in the 40th Statehood Day Celebration 2026 held at Nehru Stadium, Khonsa.
On this important occasion, the inmates of Care Me Home Sudhaar Ghar, Charju presented an exhibition of bamboo crafts prepared by them, including Mura and Phool Jaaru etc. The display received appreciation from visitors and reflected their creativity, skill development, and positive progress in rehabilitation.
As part of the awareness drive, IEC materials were distributed to promote health awareness, disease prevention, and social responsibility among the public.

The Targeted Intervention Project, Khonsa team also organized free screening tests for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Syphilis, along with counselling and related health services for beneficiaries during the programme.
The celebration was graced by Adv. John K. K. Matey, ZPC Tirap, as Chief Guest.He was accompanied by Shri T. Aran, Deputy Commissioner, Tirap, and Aditya, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Tirap. The programme was also attended by Heads of Departments, PRI members, and SHGs.
The participation of Care Me Home Welfare Society in this prestigious event reflects its continued commitment towards rehabilitation, community health, and social development in Tirap district.

STAFF CO-ORDINATION MEETING
Charju, 16/02/2026: Care Me Home Welfare Society conducted a Staff Co-ordination Meeting today at Care Me Home Sudhaar Ghar, Charju, in the gracious presence of respected Chairperson Smti Sontung Lowang Bangsia Ji.
During the meeting, important matters related to the upcoming Statehood Day celebration programs and activities were discussed in detail. Special emphasis was given to proper planning, clear allocation of responsibilities, teamwork, and strong coordination among staff members to ensure smooth and timely ex*****on of the events.

District-Level Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse for Students Concludes with Award Ceremony

Khonsa, 6 February 2026:
The District-Level Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse for students of Secondary and Senior Secondary classes from Government schools concluded today with the distribution of prizes to the winners of an Essay Writing Competition. The competition was conducted on the topic “Drug Menace with Special Reference to the TCL Region.”
The programme was graced by the In-charge Deputy Commissioner, Tirap, Shri Namneet Singh, IAS, as the Chief Guest.
Dr. K. Socia, Senior Medical Officer, Zonal General Hospital (ZGH), Khonsa, served as a resource person and highlighted the serious health hazards and long-term consequences of drug abuse.
Advocate Nakap Matey sensitised the students on the legal provisions, penalties, and punishments under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, emphasising the legal ramifications of substance abuse.
Shri Joymon Tikhak, Counsellor-cum-Senior Consultant, Care Me Home Sudhaar Ghar, Charju, addressed the participants as the Key Resource Person. He elaborated on the impact, preventive measures, and possible solutions to drug abuse, highlighting its adverse effects on health, future prospects, legal consequences, early identification of substance use, and the importance of seeking professional help.
Addressing the gathering, Shri K.C. Lowangcha, DDSE, Tirap, emphasised the vital role of education and urged students to stay away from all forms of narcotic substances, including to***co and alcohol. She encouraged students to remain focused on their studies to build a secure and meaningful future.
While awarding prizes to the winners, the In-charge Deputy Commissioner, Shri Namneet Singh, IAS, stressed the importance of career preparation from Class X onwards. He stated that the District Administration is deeply concerned about the future of students and informed that time to time career counselling programmes, in collaboration with the Education Department, will be organised in various institutions. He also emphasised the role of parents as the first teachers, noting that children often emulate their parents’ habits, and therefore urged parents to refrain from the consumption of alcohol, kaani, drugs and other narcotic substances.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the general public to maintain proper health and hygiene practices and discouraged the habit of spitting Gutka/Pan Masala in public places, which leads to unhygienic conditions and the spread of diseases. He urged society to shun such unhealthy practices and appreciated the participants of the Essay Writing Competition for expressing awareness that should be adopted in practical life.
The winners of the Essay Writing Competition were awarded cash prizes along with certificates as follows:

1st Prize: Miss Nuseng Siksa, Class X, GSS Pinewood, Khonsa – ₹10,000/- with certificate
2nd Prize: Miss Anandi Rai, Class XII, PM Shri GHSS, Khonsa – ₹6,000/- with certificate
3rd Prize: Miss Jessica K. Wotsa, Class X, GHSS, Deomali – ₹4,000/- with certificate
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Ganjam Atoa, BEO (HQs), who delivered a strong message encouraging students to become ambassadors of a drug-free society.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDSE K.C. Lowangcha stated that students constitute the largest force in society and emphasised the need for youth to channelise their energy positively for a healthy, happy, and bright future. She urged students to fight against all forms of intoxication, stay away from substance abuse, and actively engage in studies as well as games and sports. She further encouraged students to commit to leading drug-free lives and to educate their families and communities on the ill effects of drug abuse.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Shri Ganjam Atoa, District Pedagogy Coordinator (ISSE), highlighted the aims and objectives of the District-Level Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse. He informed that the programme was conceptualised to educate participants on the dangers of drug abuse, emphasise prevention, and promote collective responsibility towards building a drug-free society.
The District-Level Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse (Secondary Level), held at Government Higher Secondary School, Borduria, was a resounding success, achieving its objectives of educating and motivating students to take a firm stand against drugs. The enthusiastic participation and positive response underscored the importance of such community-based initiatives in working towards a drug-free district and ensuring a healthier future for all.

Hepatitis-B Vaccination Drive for HRGs Continued Successfully at Deomali

February 03,2026: The Hepatitis-B vaccination drive for High Risk Groups (HRGs) was successfully conducted at Deomali on 3rd February 2026. The programme aimed to strengthen prevention efforts and ensure timely vaccination among vulnerable groups.
The vaccination drive was carried out at the following rehabilitation centres:
* Life Care Foundation
* Wellness Counselling Centre
* New Way Foundation
This initiative was implemented Care Me Home Targeted Intervention Project under Care Me Home Welfare Society (a registered NGO), in collaboration with APSACS.
The programme witnessed good participation and reflects a continued commitment towards protecting HRGs from Hepatitis-B through coordinated and sustained health interventions.

LAUNCHING OF HEPATITIS-B VACCINATION DRIVE FOR HIGH RISK GROUPS

Charju, Khonsa | 30th January 2026:
The Hepatitis-B Vaccination Drive for High Risk Groups (HRGs) was successfully launched on 30th January 2026 at Care Me Home Sudhaar Ghar, Charju, Khonsa, District Tirap, Arunachal Pradesh.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. T. Gao, DRCHO, i/c DMO, Khonsa, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The programme was organized by the Care Me Home Targeted Intervention Project under Care Me Home Welfare Society (Registered NGO), in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS).
A brief overview of the programme was presented by Shri Janwang Wangsa, Project Manager, TI, who highlighted the objectives and significance of the vaccination drive.

Smti Sontung Lowang Bangsia, Chairperson, CMHWS, addressed the gathering and emphasized that Hepatitis-B remains a serious public health concern. She stressed the importance of timely vaccination and awareness to prevent Hepatitis-B infection among identified high-risk populations.

The vaccination drive was formally inaugurated by Dr. T. Gao, DRCHO, i/c DMO, Khonsa. In his address, he highlighted the importance of preventive healthcare, early intervention, and community-based outreach for vulnerable groups. He appreciated the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders involved in implementing the programme and reiterated the need to strengthen disease prevention initiatives at the community level.
The banner and visual displays provided essential information about the vaccination drive, its objectives, and the coordinated efforts of the organizing and supporting agencies.

The programme concluded with a reaffirmation of collective responsibility toward safeguarding the health of staff members and patients, and ensuring the continued implementation of targeted interventions for disease prevention in the District.
