The Skill Development Program (SDP) on โUnarmed Security Guardโ for rural unemployed youth successfully ended in Khonsa on 5th July 2024. The programme was supported by NABARDโs Arunachal Pradesh Regional Office and was implemented by the Bethel Life Care Charitable Trust (BLCCT) in partnership with the District Administration Tirap and the local NGO Seva Samithy.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ms. Ira Singhal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Tirap, as the Chief Guest. Shri S. Singpho, Superintendent of Police; Dr. Neeba Lowang, District Medical Officer and Shri Kamal Roy, DDM of NABARD were the Guests of Honour. Also present were Chandan Prasad, Founder and CEO of BLCCT, Jaawang Lowangcha, Secretary of Seva Samithy, and all the trainees.
Over the past month, the programme trained more than 30 participants in unarmed security guard skills. The training included 6 days of theoretical lessons and 24 days of hands-on practice. The trainees are now ready to work as unarmed security guards in major Indian cities. Additionally, training was provided on first aid by the Health & Family Welfare Department, and on traffic management and firefighting by the Arunachal Pradesh Police.
