Proud Moment for the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kharagpur

We are delighted to share that Prof. Brajesh Kumar Dubey has been ranked #3 globally in Waste Management research by ScholarGPS®️, a leading scholarly analytics platform based in California. This recognition reflects the outstanding research output of his group at IIT Kharagpur.

Prof. Dubey, Chair of the School of Water Resources and head of the Circular Engineering Research Group (CERG), has nearly 20 years of experience working on sustainability, waste management, circular economy, and science-based policy. He has previously served as a faculty member in New Zealand, the USA, and Canada, and is widely known for his SWAYAM courses and global thought leadership.

Civil Engineering Dodgeball Challenge Recap

The women from our Civil Engineering department came together for an energetic and lively take on dodgeball, highlighting teamwork, agility, and some impressive dodging skills.

In this version of the game, one player stood in the center of a circle, while the others positioned themselves around the perimeter. The objective was to try to hit the center player below the knee with a ball. The longer a center player avoided being hit, the closer they were to winning the round.

After an exciting competition with impressive maneuvers, here are the results:

Epic Tug-of-War Showdown at CES Sports Weekend!

Team Pavan emerged victorious in a thrilling best-of-2 tug-of-war match against Team Arjun!

Led by their captain, Konnuru Pavan Kumar, Team Pavan emerged victorious in a thrilling best-of-2 tug-of-war match against Team Arjun at the CES Sports Weekend.

A Match for the Ages

With team members like Indra Kumar, Eshwar, Avikal Shrivastava, Namburi Gowtham, Rajmal, and Bandaru Rishi by his side, Pavan Kumar's team displayed incredible strength, teamwork, and determination.

Set 1: Arjun's Dominance Team Arjun started strong, pulling off a decisive victory in just 30 seconds. Their synchronized effort and powerful pull caught Team Pavan off guard.

Set 2: Pavan's Comeback

Undeterred by the initial setback, Team Pavan fought back fiercely. With a well-coordinated strategy and sheer brute force, they secured a 48-second win, leveling the score.

Set 3: The Decider

The final set was a nail-biter. Both teams pushed their limits, straining every muscle. In a thrilling climax, Team Pavan emerged victorious, clinching the set in just 11 seconds.

In a nail-biting match, Team PG, captained by Samrat Kowshik, clinched a thrilling victory over Team UG, led by Samprit Saha, after an intense penalty shootout! The crowd was on the edge of their seats as Razmol Murmu's clutch performance sealed the win in dramatic fashion.
