🌍 Celebrating World Earth Day 2026 with Community Action 🌱

On 22 April 2026, Khandwa Diocesan Social Services (KDSS) organised awareness programs across selected villages in all project areas on the occasion of Earth Day. Activities were conducted in schools, Anganwadi centres, hostels, and public places to spread awareness about environmental protection.

During the programs, the KDSS team interacted with community members and discussed the importance of Earth Day and current environmental challenges. Villagers were encouraged to understand the value of tree planting and take responsibility for nurturing plants to keep the environment green and healthy.

Children enthusiastically participated in poster-making activities, watered plants, and raised inspiring slogans for Earth conservation. Youth and children also pledged to protect nature and maintain a clean and green environment.

Awareness sessions were also conducted on the importance of trees, water conservation, and the harmful effects of plastic pollution.

🌿 Together, let’s protect our planet and build a greener future for generations to come.

🫁 Spreading Awareness on World Tuberculosis Day 2026 🌍

On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day (24 March), Khandwa Diocesan Social Services (KDSS) organised awareness programmes across various villages in the district to educate communities about Tuberculosis (TB).

The programmes were conducted at schools, Anganwadi centres, Panchayat, and other community spaces, aiming to promote awareness and encourage early diagnosis and timely treatment.

This year’s theme,
✨ “Yes! We can end TB: Led by countries, powered by people”
highlights the importance of strong leadership, community participation, and collective action in eliminating TB.

During the sessions, KDSS staff provided simple and practical information on TB symptoms, causes, testing, and treatment. Community members were also encouraged to refer suspected cases to nearby government health centres for proper diagnosis and care.

To enhance awareness, IEC materials such as posters, banners, and pamphlets were widely used.

💙 Together, let’s break the stigma, spread awareness, and work towards a TB-free society.
