The 4th Foundation Day of Mission Ashra-II, People’s Forum, Jharsuguda was celebrated with warmth and togetherness in the presence of DSSO Mr. Sunil Kumar Nayak. The occasion featured joyful competitions for the inmates, with winners felicitated by the Chief Guest.

Sweets were shared to spread happiness, and the dedicated staff members were honoured for their tireless service and commitment to the well-being of the inmates. The celebration was further enriched by the presence of the Program Associate and staff members from centres across the Jharsuguda Zone, making the event meaningful and memorable.

DISHA Rourkela – Recovery Center for Drug Addicts, under the SSEPD Department, Government of Odisha, managed by People’s Forum, organised an impactful awareness rally across Rourkela city under the NMBA initiative, delivering a strong and united message against drug abuse.

Students of Govt. High School, Uditnagar, along with dedicated Anganwadi workers, actively participated in the rally, strengthening the collective voice for a drug-free society. The team also reached out to people in the local market, creating awareness about the harmful effects of drugs and the serious dangers of addiction.

Information regarding the de-addiction and rehabilitation services available at DISHA Rourkela was shared, extending support, guidance, and renewed hope to individuals and families in need.

DISHA, Berhampur, a centre under the SSEPD Department, Government of Odisha, managed by People’s Forum, organised a three-day Yoga Camp at IDTRS, Palur, Ganjam under the theme “Say No to Addiction, Say Yes to Life and Yoga.”

Held from 11th to 13th February 2026, the camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from 196 driver brothers on the very first day, making the inauguration a grand success. Their active involvement and cooperation set a positive and inspiring tone for the programme.

The initiative aims to encourage a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle by promoting regular yoga practice and creating greater awareness about holistic well-being.

Closing Ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

People’s Forum successfully conducted the closing ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism campaign, raising awareness on gender-based violence. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries from Sonepur and began with the symbolic lighting of the lamp, followed by heartfelt felicitations and an insightful session on the global significance of the campaign.

Our guests emphasized the seriousness of gender-based violence and the urgent need for awareness, prevention, and collective action to support survivors. Their presence strengthened our shared mission of building a safer and more equitable society.

Together, we pledge to break the silence and inspire change.
