Hands-on learning in progress!

The Livelihood and Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) on Hand Embroidery, supported by NABARD and implemented by Kerala Association for Rural Development (KARD), is progressing successfully. Participants are actively engaged in practical sessions, learning a variety of hand embroidery techniques under expert guidance. The training focuses on enhancing craftsmanship, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills, enabling participants to transform their talents into sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through this initiative, KARD continues to empower rural women with skills that promote self-employment and economic independence.

Hand Embroidery Training under LEDP Inaugurated at KARD

Kerala Association for Rural Development (KARD), with the support of NABARD, has commenced a Livelihood and Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) on Hand Embroidery. The free training programme aims to enhance the skills and livelihood opportunities of participants through skill-based training and entrepreneurship development.

A total of 90 selected members from Self Help Groups (SHGs) are participating in the 20-day training programme being conducted at the KARD Hall, Kalluvathukkal.

The programme was inaugurated by Ms. J. Rakhi Mol, Assistant General Manager, NABARD, in the presence of Dr. Nadakkal Sasi, Chairman, KARD, who presided over the function.

The event was attended by Resmi G Nair, Rani Gopinath, Gouri S, Krishna Prasad, Resource Person Saraswathi, and other dignitaries. The speakers highlighted the importance of skill development, livelihood promotion, and enterprise opportunities for women through initiatives like LEDP.
