Socio Economic Develpoment Society (SEDS) is an non governmental organization formed by a few Gandhian activists of Kasaragod district, Kerala, to actualize the vision ‘Grama Swaraj’ – self ruled, self restrained autonomous villages. Production and consumption of indigenous products, initiation of low cost, pollution free and labour oriented schemes, organization for awareness programmes for living in better surroundings and health, to start Gandhian vision Centers for spreading Gandhian views in the society, to stand strong footed for the women section and encourage women education, to plan and implement programmes aimed at the upliftment of the Tribals and Dalits residing in colonies, to work for the welfare of the aged, children and the disabled are some of the activities which are given priority in the natural action pattern of ‘SEDS’. Through these activities ‘SEDS’ aimed at building up a discrimination free society. ‘SEDS’ is a Voluntary Organisation registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 (Reg.No.488/1999).
