Celebrating World Social Work Day with purpose and meaningful engagement 🌱✨

Akkara Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Social Work, Yenepoya College, proudly observed this day on 7th April at Akkara Foundation.

We were honored by the presence of:

Dr. Mohamed Guthigar (Professor & Head, Department of Social Work)

Mrs. Mainaz ( Assistant Professor)

A special appreciation to the Social Work Department of Yenepoya College, along with the dedicated faculties and PhD scholars who actively participated and contributed to the programme.

As part of the celebration, an interactive activity was conducted where participants explored key themes such as:
• Role of a social worker in different settings
• Responsibilities at national and international levels
• Challenges faced by the social work profession in India
• Changes they wish to see in the field

Participants developed their reflections based on these themes, followed by an institutional visit. The session concluded with thoughtful reflections on their experiences and a deeper understanding of how social work methods and principles are practiced within Akkara Foundation.

A day of learning, reflection, and collective commitment to strengthening the profession 💚🌍
