Doctor of Pharmacy Association- Kerala Doctor of Pharmacy Association-Kerala (DOPA), is a professional organization of Pharm.D practitioners, teachers and Students of Pharmacy Practice in Kerala.

The Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, abbreviated as Pharm.D is a professional doctoral degree in Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D ) program in India, which was started in 2008 by Govt. of India and the Pharmacy Council of India, is a 6-year course (5 years+1 year Internship in a min.300 bed hospital setting). It is a global Pharmacy program focussing on promoting the rational, scientific and prude

nt use of medicines at both hospital and community levels. In Kerala the Pharm.D education was started in 2010, first in Amrita University and then in three Self-financing Pharmacy Colleges ( Al Shifa College of Pharmacy, Perinthalmanna; National College of Pharmacy, Calicut and Sree Krishna College of Pharmacy, Trivandrum) affiliated to KUHS. Now there are about 10 Pharm.D Colleges in Kerala with more than 1500 students. Few more colleges may come up soon
