Supreme Court takes note of the growing concerns around children’s use of social media and their exploitation.
The Hon’ble Supreme Court has issued notice in a petition concerning the use of social media by children and the growing risks of their exploitation in the digital environment. The Court’s observation that “firewalls” need to be applied underlines the urgent need for stronger safeguards to protect children online.
At MDD of India, we take immense pride in being associated with Just Rights for Children (JRC) in this important mission of protecting children and strengthening access to justice.
Today, children are increasingly exposed to online abuse, exploitation, harmful content, grooming and other digital risks. Their safety cannot be left to chance. We need stronger laws, effective implementation, responsible technology platforms, aware parents and communities, and a collective commitment to put the best interests of the child first.

We urge parents, schools, civil society organisations, technology platforms, law-enforcement agencies and every responsible citizen to come together and take concrete steps to protect children in the digital world.
