These were the words of Supreme Court of India in a Transfer Petition matter in a matrimonial dispute to the counsel of the Husband who has filed "restitution of conjugal rights" while the wife wants Divorce
Advocate Syed Kamran Ali, counsel for the husband informed the court that the wife has demanded 5 CRORES in alimony even though there is no child and because they can't fulfill such a demand, mediation has failed. He submitted that the husband is willing to pay 35-40 Lacs for one time settlement but the wife wants 5 Crores.

Gurusharan Awasthi, an NRI living in London, recalls the court battles that began shortly after his marriage. Originally from Mumbai, he works in finance in London. After completing an MBA in London, he placed a matrimonial advertisement in an English newspaper in October 2007.
Following many proposals, he finalised talks with Shalini Vashisth from Gurugram on 21 April 2008, and they married on 27 April. He returned to London alone on 12–13 May, unaware of the legal troubles ahead.
*Within a year, his wife filed three cases alleging dowry, domestic violence, and desertion. After a nine-year fight, Gurusharan was acquitted of all charges. In 2016, Shalini and her family filed a maintenance case, still pending. Gurusharan countered, seeking ₹1.8 crore in compensation for alleged harassment and financial loss.*
