Sometimes, change begins with a small voice… and slowly, that voice turns into a movement.
“Waqt Ki Awaaz” Community Radio Station, run by Shramik Bharti, has been continuously working to raise awareness against domestic violence through its program “HINSA KO NO.” Recently, this initiative witnessed a moment where emotions spoke louder than words.
Archana Kapoor, Director of SMART Organization, visited with her team and, along with Radio Station Head Radha Shukla, connected directly with around 80 rural women. It was not just a discussion, but a safe space where women felt comfortable opening up and sharing their experiences.
They spoke about difficult realities—domestic violence, marital r**e, sexual harassment, and child abuse. Some stories were hard to hear, reminding us of the silent struggles many women continue to face.
Yet, amidst the pain, what stood out was their strength. The strength to speak, to share, and to support one another.
For the past three years, the consistent efforts of “Waqt Ki Awaaz” and SMART Organization have helped communities better understand how to prevent domestic violence and support those affected. Today, this work is bringing visible positive change in nearby villages.
This experience reinforced a powerful truth—when women stand together, become each other’s voice, and support one another, they don’t just transform their own lives, they begin to transform society.
Special thanks to Archana Kapoor for her guidance, dedication, and for being a constant source of strength behind this impactful initiative.
