RAKHI MAKING COMPETITION – SOUTH GROUP GUIDE SECTION 🪢

🪢 The Guide Section of South Group organized a Rakhi Making Competition among its Guides to promote creativity 🎨, Indian culture 🇮🇳, and the true spirit of Raksha Bandhan which signifies love, protection, and brotherhood 🤝.

The competition was conducted with great enthusiasm 😊 where each Guide showcased her imagination, artistic skills, and innovative ideas. During the competition ✂️, the participants prepared beautiful Rakhis using threads 🧵, beads ✨, paper, and other waste materials ♻️, reflecting their resourcefulness and love for sustainability 🌿.

The event not only enhanced their crafting skills but also helped them understand the cultural significance of Raksha Bandhan 📚.

The competition was held in a joyful 😊, creative and disciplined atmosphere 🎖️, providing a valuable learning experience and strengthening the bond of unity and sisterhood among all the participating Guides 🌟.

🚨 HIGH STATION RESCUE DRILL 🚨

On 22 August 2026, the Rovers of South Group conducted a practical High Station Rescue Drill to develop their skills and preparedness for emergency rescue situations. 🧗‍♂️🪢 During the drill, the Rovers practiced rescuing a person from a height using the Fireman’s Chair Knot, an important technique for securely supporting a casualty during a rescue operation. The participants carefully practiced tying and checking the knot, handling ropes, maintaining proper coordination, and safely lowering the person from the elevated station. ⛑️🚨

The drill also focused on teamwork, communication, discipline, leadership, and quick decision-making, which are essential qualities during any emergency response. 🤝💪 The Rovers worked together throughout the exercise, following safety procedures and ensuring that every step of the rescue was carried out in a controlled and organized manner. The practical session gave them valuable hands-on experience in handling high-angle rescue situations and helped improve their confidence in using rescue equipment and techniques. 🪢🏕️

Through this activity, the Rovers strengthened their understanding of rescue operations and learned the importance of remaining calm, alert, and coordinated during challenging situations. 🚨✨ The successful completion of the drill reflected the spirit of service, teamwork, and preparedness that forms an important part of Rovering. ⚜️💪

🏆⚜️ SOUTH GROUP CUB SECTION WINS INTER-GROUP CUB COMPETITION ⚜️🏆

The Cub Section of South Group proudly secured 1st place 🏆 in the Inter-Group Cub Competition organized by the Kanchrapara District. ⚜️🐾 The competition tested the Cubs across various scouting skills and activities, including Turnout & Greetings, Flag Ceremony, Jungle Dance, Knotting, and Compass. 🚩🪢🧭💃

The Cubs demonstrated excellent discipline, confidence, teamwork, coordination, and practical scouting skills throughout the competition. Their smart turnout and confident greetings reflected their discipline, while the Flag Ceremony showcased their respect, responsibility, and understanding of Scout traditions. 🚩 The Cubs also impressed everyone with their energetic Jungle Dance, displaying enthusiasm, creativity, and team spirit. 🐾💃

The Knotting and Compass activities further tested their practical knowledge, accuracy, and ability to apply basic scouting techniques effectively. 🪢🧭 Through dedicated preparation and strong teamwork, the Cubs successfully completed the different challenges and emerged as the winners of the competition. 🏆🎉

This achievement is a proud moment for South Group and reflects the hard work of the Cubs, the guidance of their leaders, and the strong spirit of teamwork, discipline, learning, and adventure that lies at the heart of Cub Scouting. ⚜️❤️ Congratulations to all the Cubs for their outstanding performance and well-deserved victory! 🎊👏🏆

🏆⚽ 4TH IMPESSA CHALLENGE TROPHY ⚽🏆

On 16 August 2026, the Scout Section of South Group successfully organized the 4th Impessa Challenge Trophy ⚽🏆, a football tournament that promoted teamwork, discipline, leadership, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among the Scouts. A total of 6 teams, consisting of 7 members each, participated in the tournament. The participating teams were 🇪🇸 Spain, 🇵🇹 Portugal, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🏴 England, 🇫🇷 France, and 🇧🇷 Brazil. Each team displayed great enthusiasm, coordination, determination, and team spirit throughout the tournament. 🤝⚽ The event provided the Scouts with an opportunity to develop their sporting abilities while learning the importance of cooperation, fair play, discipline, and respect for opponents. Every match was filled with excitement and competitive spirit, with all the teams giving their best to achieve victory. After a series of thrilling and closely contested matches, 🇪🇸 Spain emerged as the Champion of the 4th Impessa Challenge Trophy 🏆🎉. The event concluded successfully, leaving behind memorable moments of friendship, teamwork, and true sporting spirit. ⚜️❤️

🇮🇳🎉 INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION BY SOUTH GROUP 🎉🇮🇳

📅 On 15 August 2026, South Group, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Eastern Railway celebrated the 80th Independence Day at the Group premises with great pride and enthusiasm. 🇮🇳✨ The celebration was based on the theme “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047”, highlighting the important role of youth in building a developed and progressive India. 🌱🚀

🏕️ A total of 85 participants from all sections of the Group, including Cub, Bulbul, Scout, Guide, Rover and Ranger, took part in the celebration with great enthusiasm. All sections actively participated and showcased the spirit of unity, discipline and patriotism. 🤝🇮🇳

🎤 The programme included inspiring speeches, patriotic songs and various cultural performances presented by the members. Through their performances, the participants remembered the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and shared the message of love, respect and responsibility towards the nation. 🇮🇳🎶

🌟 The celebration provided a platform for the members to express their creativity, confidence and dedication. The wholesome programme reflected the core values of Scouting and Guiding — service, teamwork, discipline and unity. 🏕️🤝

🧹 As a part of the service activity, a Group Cleaning Programme was conducted after the celebration. All members actively participated in cleaning the Group premises and promoted the values of cleanliness, responsibility and community service. 🌿✨

🏆 The Independence Day celebration was a memorable and meaningful event that brought all sections together and strengthened the spirit of patriotism, unity and service among the members of South Group. 🇮🇳🌟

INTER-CREW COMPETITION – SOUTH GROUP ROVER SECTION 🏕️

🏕️ The South Group Rover Section organized an Inter-Crew Competition among its three Rover Crews to promote teamwork 🤝, leadership 🧭, discipline 🎖️, and practical scouting skills. The event comprised Campcraft ⛺, Flag Procedure 🚩, Backwoodsman 🌿, and Campfire 🔥 competitions, where each crew enthusiastically demonstrated their knowledge, coordination, and creativity. During the Campcraft competition ⛺, the participants showcased their proficiency in tent pitching, knots and lashings, campsite management, and overall camp discipline. The Flag Procedure competition 🚩 assessed the crews on their precision, discipline, coordination, and adherence to the correct ceremonial procedures. The Backwoodsman competition 🌳 tested the Rovers' outdoor skills, resourcefulness, and ability to improvise using natural materials. The Campfire competition 🔥 concluded the event with energetic songs 🎶, skits 🎭, yells 📣, and cultural performances that reflected confidence 💪, unity 🤝, and the true spirit of Rovering. The competition was conducted in a friendly 😊 and disciplined atmosphere, providing valuable learning experiences 📚 and strengthening the bond of brotherhood among all the participating Rover Crews. 🌟

The spirit of Bengal came alive as *South Group* proudly celebrated *Rabindra Nazrul Sandhya 2026* on 28th June 2026, paying heartfelt tribute to the timeless literary and musical brilliance of *Rabindranath Tagore* and *Kazi Nazrul Islam*. 🌿🎤✨

With the enthusiastic participation of *around 80 members*, the evening became a beautiful celebration of unity, culture, and creativity. *Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers, Unit Leaders, and Parents* gathered with immense excitement, making the programme a truly memorable family of Scouting and Guiding. ⚜️❤️

The evening started with a small condolence meet in the honour of our *First Ranger Leader* Late Smt. Debi Majumder whose sudden departure has left us all in grief.
The venue echoed with soulful *Rabindra Sangeet*, powerful *Nazrul Geeti*, inspiring recitations, graceful performances, and heartfelt tributes that beautifully reflected the rich heritage of Bengal. Every performance showcased not only artistic talent but also the values of discipline, harmony, and cultural pride that Scouting and Guiding stand for. 🎼🎭📚

The evening was more than just a cultural programme—it was a celebration of togetherness, where generations came together to cherish our literary heritage and strengthen the bonds of friendship and community. The smiles, applause, and shared moments created memories that will be treasured for years to come. 🤝🌺💫

A heartfelt thank you to every participant, dedicated volunteer, Unit Leader, parent, and supporter whose enthusiasm and tireless efforts made this grand celebration a resounding success. 🌿✨

South Group Scout Section proudly organized the Inter Patrol Competition for Scouts – The Baden-Powell’s Challenge Trophy 2026 on 05 July 2026. 🏆⚜️

A total of 48 Scouts and 7 Scout Masters & 3 Counsellors came together for a day filled with enthusiasm, teamwork, skill, and true Scouting spirit. The event was a grand success, showcasing leadership, discipline, and healthy competition among all the patrols.
