The Cauvery Team, traveled to rural private School, Kanakapura on 11 December 2021 and addressed the rural school kids and conducted the Wildlife Conservation Awareness Program at the fringes of Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary, Karnataka with the Screening of an award-winning wildlife documentary called THE TRUTH ABOUT TIGERS A film by Shekar Dattatri.

Each screening was followed by an interaction with students and teachers to enable them to better understand tigers and their conservation. The programs received an overwhelming response.

Less than 2000+ wild tigers survive in India. Being a flagship species, the tiger plays a crucial role in the survival of hundreds of species that share the same habitat. The ecology of tigers, the conservation issues they face, and the solutions to conservation are encapsulated in 'The Truth About Tigers', a 40-minute documentary film by Shekar Dattatri.

“The Truth about the Tiger” is by Shekar Dattatri, a Chennai-based wildlife and conservation filmmaker who has won many awards, both national and international. The film was a compilation of many footages shot by leading wildlife cinematographers and insights from experts.

Watching the film makes one think of the lives of tigers. Instead of being protected in a Reserve Forest, they are being hunted.

Saving tigers from extinction is not a lost cause, a collective effort is needed from every adult and child. The mantra to be remembered is: “We can do it together.”
