ALIG ā€“ A Literacy Initiative Group was established to create a difference in the lives of the many underprivileged, with the able support of organizations and individuals, who would want to extend a helping hand in the social sector. We have been relentlessly working in the fields of Education, Health and Social Entrepreneurship (specifically Women Empowerment) over the last few years and have proudly experienced many success stories in these areas of operations. Some of these success stories can be seen at our website (www.aligsociety.org) and this page Facebook.com/aligsociety. ALIG currently has multiple resource centers of its own, operating in four districts of Jharkhand and one district of Bihar. Programs in these centers are currently being executed by an experienced and qualified team. Thanks to the able support from Government of India, Government of Jharkhand, Tata Power and Jaypee Group (to name a few), we have been able to facilitate smiles on more than 7000 beneficiaries till date.

Gandhi Jayanti | 2 October

ā€œBe the change you wish to see in the world.ā€

On this Gandhi Jayanti, let us remember Mahatma Gandhiā€™s timeless values of truth, peace, non-violence and simplicity. May his message inspire us to build a more compassionate, united and responsible society.

A new door to discovery through Science at UMS Khakripara!
On 28 September 2026, a Mini Science Centre Lab was inaugurated at UMS Khakripara School, Jamshedpur, with the support of Jojobera and ALIG Society.

The lab houses around 90 STEM models, along with DIY models that let students Learn, Explore, Experiment and Create, taking science beyond the textbook through hands-on activities.

This initiative will benefit 250 children, most of whom are first-generation learners. By making science interactive and fun, the lab aims to spark their excitement for learning and build their confidence to explore, question and discover.
We thank Tata Power Jojobera for partnering with us to nurture scientific curiosity in young minds.

Education is not just about reading books or passing exams ā€” it is about building confidence, curiosity, and the courage to dream.

Through the Education Learning Enhancement Program (ELEP), we are creating supportive learning spaces where students can strengthen their skills, participate actively, and discover their potential.

Because every childā€™s potential deserves the right opportunity to grow.

One Stitch at a Time, Building Dreams

What looks like a simple needle and thread can become the beginning of something much bigger ā€” skill, confidence, independence and hope.

At Hunar Ghar, beneficiaries are learning the intricate art of Chikankari, transforming every stitch into a step toward new opportunities.

From mastering their first stitch to creating beautiful Chikankari motifs, every creation reflects patience, creativity and determination. šŸ§µ

Because empowerment can begin with something as simple as a needle, a thread and the courage to learn.

One stitch at a time. One dream at a time. One future at a time.

Together, we are creating pathways to self-reliance, brighter futures, and stronger communities through the power of skill development.
