We, the Rotaract Club of DBMS College of Education, are delighted to announce our Project of August Month - VASUNDHARA🌍🌱💚.

VASUNDHARA - Throw Today, Breathe Tomorrow 🌿♻️ is a green initiative focused on Seed Balls Making, Distribution and Throwing Drive🤲🍀. With the thought of _“Small Seeds, Bigger Green Future”_ 🌱🌳, we aim to create a Greener, Cleaner and Healthier Tomorrow for all 🌏💚✨.

Under this project, we will be making seed balls with local soil, clay & seeds 🤎🌱, distributing them to communities 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🤝, and throwing them in open spaces, lakes & barren lands 🏞️🌊 to promote green cover and environmental awareness 🌿📢.

Let’s join hands to nurture nature – one seed ball at a time 🌍💚🙏. Think Green, Live Green! 🌳💫

🌸 WIRI Talk Series –
📚 _Education for Underprivileged Communities_

On 21st August 2026, the Women in Rotary International (WIRI) organized an insightful WIRI Talk Series on “Education for Underprivileged Communities”, the Rotaract Club of DBMS College of Education, participated. The session was an inspiring initiative focusing on the transformative power of education and its role in empowering individuals and communities.

The session featured Rtn. Elizabeth Danckwerts,fondly known as “Mama B”, as the Main Speaker. A Past President and True Rotarian of Isiphiwo Primary School, Khayelitsha, Rtn. Elizabeth joined Rotary in 2005 and has devoted herself to community service, particularly in the field of education. Her dedication and contribution to service were recognised with the Paul Harris Award in 2009 and 2019.🏅✨

The session highlighted that education is much more than academic learning—it is a pathway to dignity, confidence, opportunity and independence. 📖🌱 The discussion also placed special emphasis on empowering women and giving wings to their dreams through education, encouragement and equal opportunities. 🪽💫
A key takeaway from the session was the powerful journey:
*EDUCATION → OPPORTUNITY → EMPOWERMENT → TRANSFORMATION* 🌍✨
The session reinforced that meaningful service should focus not only on providing temporary assistance but also on creating sustainable opportunities that enable people to build better futures.

“रिश्तों की डोर” – Celebrating the Bond of Raksha Bandhan🤝

_Rakhi Making Competition | Creativity • Culture • Emotions_

On the auspicious occasion of _Raksha Bandhan_ 🥰, the Rotaract Club of DBMS College of Education organized “रिश्तों की डोर”, a Rakhi Making Activity aimed at nurturing creativity among students and helping them connect with the cultural values and emotions associated with this beautiful festival. 🎊

🏫 SCHOOLS COVERED

• DBMS Girls High School, Kadma
• Tata Workers’ Union +2 High School, Kadma

The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation from 👧 *156 students*, who created beautiful Rakhis using their own ideas, colours, and creativity. Along with making Rakhis, the children also created Raksha Bandhan greeting cards, expressing their feelings through colourful designs, thoughtful messages, and handmade artwork. 🎁💌✨

The activity gave students an opportunity to understand the significance of Raksha Bandhan while expressing the emotions of love, care, respect, protection, and togetherness through their creations.🌻❤️

While creating their *Rakhis and greeting cards*, students also learned about the traditions and values associated with Raksha Bandhan—the importance of relationships, affection, respect, and the joy of celebrating together. The activity turned a familiar festival into a meaningful learning experience, where creativity became a beautiful way of connecting with culture. 🌸❤️

It was heartwarming to see students enjoying the process, helping one another, and proudly displaying their handmade Rakhis and cards. “रिश्तों की डोर”🎀 was not about finding the best Rakhi or card📜, but about celebrating every effort, every idea, and every little expression of creativity.

The Rotaract Club of DBMS College of Education extends heartfelt thanks to the school authorities, teachers, and students for their wonderful participation and support in making “रिश्तों की डोर” a meaningful celebration.✨️🎉
