In a time when society is grappling with the growing menace of drug abuse, the role of committed organizations becomes not just important, but indispensable. The Global Peace Foundation (GPF) has been steadfastly working on the ground against this silent epidemic and stands fully committed to supporting the Hon’ble LG J&K’s 100 Days Initiative aimed at eradicating drug abuse from our society.
For the past 7 years, GPF has been tirelessly engaged in the fight against drugs through consistent and meaningful interventions. From reporting drug-related activities to the concerned authorities, to providing counselling support to victims and their families, the organization has worked at every level preventive, corrective, and rehabilitative.
Our efforts have included organizing awareness workshops in schools and colleges, where young minds are sensitized about the harsh realities and long-term consequences of substance abuse. Rallies and public campaigns have been conducted to mobilize communities and create a collective voice against drugs. GPF has also actively engaged with parents, teachers, and local stakeholders to build a support system that identifies early warning signs and acts before it is too late.
In addition, the foundation has been working closely with rehabilitation centres, facilitating access to de-addiction services and encouraging those affected to seek help without stigma. Skill-building initiatives and motivational sessions are also conducted to help recovering individuals reintegrate into society with dignity and purpose.
GPF believes that the fight against drugs cannot be won in isolation. It requires a united societal effort families, institutions, law enforcement, and civil society working together with determination and honesty. Through its sustained work, the foundation has not only spread awareness but has also instilled hope in countless lives.
The journey is long, but the resolve is firm. With continued support and collective action, we can build a drug-free, healthy, and progressive Jammu & Kashmir.
