The 34th Annual Festival of Globe (FOG) India Day Parade in Fremont, California, marked India’s 80th Independence Day — and this year, our contingent carried a message that felt especially powerful.

Marching alongside the Kashmiri Hindu and Jewish communities, under one banner that read “Stronger Together,” were moderate, freedom-loving Iranians — people who love their country, cherish their heritage, and believe Iran can once again belong to its people.

Two details in these pictures are worth pausing on.

The flag. Look closely: one piece of cloth, three nations. The Stars and Stripes. The blue-and-white Magen David. And Iran’s green, white and red, bearing the golden Shir-o-Khorshid — the Lion and Sun, Iran’s historic emblem before 1979 and, today, a powerful symbol for many in the Iranian diaspora who refuse to let go of the Iran they remember.

America that gave us refuge. Israel that refuses to be erased. Iran that remembers who it was.

And then, the cap: MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN.

Worn by Iranians who love their country and want it back — not the Iran of the Islamic Republic’s theocracy, but an Iran rooted in its ancient civilization, the Iran of Cyrus, Persepolis, pluralism and national pride.

That sentiment needs no translation for Kashmiri Hindus.

We know what it means to carry a homeland in your heart while someone else holds the keys to your home. We know what it means to preserve memory, identity and hope across generations — and to believe that one day, the right to return, reclaim and rebuild can become a reality.

Different histories. Different flags. Different homelands.

But the same longing for freedom, dignity, identity and the right to live without fear.

Different flags. Same fight. Stronger together. 🇮🇳🇺🇸🇮🇱🇮🇷

Real movements are not built on empty slogans or hollow words. They are built through the unwavering commitment, sacrifice, and dedication of honest people who refuse to give up. The protest at Jantar Mantar, led by the dedicated activists of Panun Kashmir, was one such example. It reflected decades of perseverance in the pursuit of justice, recognition, and dignity for the displaced Kashmiri Hindu community.

Kashmir Hindu Foundation stands firmly with Panun Kashmir and extends its full support to this movement. Together, we remain committed to ensuring that the voices of the displaced are heard and that the demand for justice is never forgotten.

Kashmir Hindu Foundation Extends Full Support to Panun Kashmir's July 20 Protest at Jantar Mantar

The Kashmir Hindu Foundation (KHF) extends its full and unwavering support to the protest organized by Panun Kashmir at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, on July 20, 2026.

Thirty-six years have passed since the forced exodus of the indigenous Kashmiri Hindu community from the Kashmir Valley. Yet, despite countless assurances by successive governments, the fundamental issues facing the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community remain unresolved. Justice has been delayed, rehabilitation remains incomplete, and the community continues to live in exile without a permanent and dignified solution.

While the government highlights record tourism and economic activity in the Kashmir Valley, the genuine concerns of the victims of the 1990 ethnic cleansing continue to be overlooked. Tourism cannot be a substitute for justice, nor can economic indicators erase the suffering of a community that was uprooted from its ancestral homeland through terror and violence.

The July 20 protest at Jantar Mantar represents a peaceful and democratic assertion of the Kashmiri Hindu community's long-standing demands. It is a call for the Government of India to officially recognize the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus, ensure justice and accountability, and implement the Panun Kashmir Homeland Resolution, which envisions a secure and constitutionally protected homeland for displaced Kashmiri Hindus in the Kashmir Valley.

The Kashmir Hindu Foundation urges all Kashmiri Hindus, human rights advocates, civil society organizations, and all those who believe in justice and democratic values to stand in solidarity with this movement. The continued neglect of the community's legitimate aspirations only deepens a historical injustice that has persisted for over three decades.

"Thirty-six years of exile is far too long for any community. Justice cannot remain an unfulfilled promise. The time has come for the Government of India to acknowledge the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus and take decisive steps toward the implementation of a secure homeland, ensuring that such a tragedy is never repeated."

The Kashmir Hindu Foundation stands shoulder to shoulder with Panun Kashmir and reaffirms its commitment to the cause of justice, dignity, security, and the inalienable rights of the displaced Kashmiri Hindu community.
