JAMMU, J&K โ May 2, 2026 โ The Peopleโs Hut Foundation (PHF), in collaboration with the Department of Relief and Rehabilitation (M) J&K, successfully hosted a comprehensive "Free Multi-Specialty Medical Camp" today at the Community Hall in Purkhoo Camp, Jammu. The initiative, designed to deliver high-quality healthcare to vulnerable populations, successfully served 396 patients, with a specialized focus on the elderly, women, and children. According to Mr. Vikas Koul, Advisor to PHF, this medical camp serves as a core component of the foundation's "Mobile Health Clinic Program," a dedicated effort aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility across Jammu & Kashmir.
The camp was officially inaugurated by Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Dr. Arvind Karwani, alongside DC Relief Sh. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Eminent social worker and youth leader Sh. Muktesh Yogi, and special guests Mr. Rockey Pandita and Sh. Kamal Ganjoo. The event was meticulously organized by key PHF members, including Dr. Rohit Koul, Dr. Ritu Koul, Ms. Zoha Barkat, Mr. Vikas Koul, Ms. Lalita Sharma, and dedicated PHF volunteers. During the inauguration, Chief Guest Dr. Karwani urged residents to fully utilize the services, noting that the overwhelming response highlights the critical need to bridge the gap between specialized facilities and the communities that struggle to access them. He also assured continued government support for future initiatives catering to underprivileged sections of society.
Through a powerful collaborative effort, the local population was provided access to a wide array of specialist consultations. Services included internal medicine and general physicians, orthopedics, physiotherapy, dentistry, diagnostic testing, ophthalmology, and the distribution of free Ayush and allopathic medicines. The success of the camp was heavily bolstered by the participation of premier healthcare institutions. Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar provided specialist doctors coordinated by Marketing Head Mr. Dheeraj Singh and Dr. Priyanka Sharma. True Faith Dental Clinic, under Dr. Prashant Verma, delivered dental services, while diagnostic services were managed by O-Lab's Ms. Ambica Parihar and Mr. Dheeraj Chudhary. Comprehensive eye screenings were conducted by Sharp Sight Eye Hospital Jammu, led by a team including Sahil Sharma, Rahul Kumar, Tanvi, and Humera. Additionally, the Directorate of Ayush J&K, under DAO Dr. Vandana Dogra, provided traditional wellness services represented by Dr. Ity Mahajan, Dr. Madhu Sharma, and Vijay Kumar Bhat.
Leadership present at the event praised the initiative's broader community impact. Guest of Honor Sh. Vijay Kumar Sharma emphasized that such endeavors provide immediate medical relief while strengthening the bond and fostering trust between local communities and non-profit organizations. Special Guests Rockey Pandita and Kamal Ganjoo both commended the on-site specialist consultations as a significant step toward overcoming geographical and financial barriers to quality care. Camp coordinator Sh. Muktesh Yogi concluded by acknowledging the humanitarian commitment of the Peopleโs Hut Foundation, noting that through its" Mobile Health Clinic Program" and community outreach, the NGO consistently strives to ensure education, well-being, and accessible healthcare for all citizens in underserved regions.
