*RBBA Seeks Withdrawal of 100% Hike in JDA Bus Stand Parking Charges*
*JAMMU, Sept 9:*
A delegation of Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Association(RBBA) led by its President Sh. Sanjay Gupta, General Secretary Sh. Amit Goel and Treasurer Sh. Ankush Sethi met JDA Vice Chairman Sh. Rupesh Kumar, IAS, and submitted a memorandum seeking rationalization of the revised charges.
The Association pointed out that the monthly day-parking charges till June 2026 were Rs. 1,000, which have now been enhanced to Rs. 2,000.
The Association (RBBA) has urged the Jammu Development Authority (JDA) to immediately withdraw the nearly 100% hike in parking charges at the Smart City Multi-Level Car Parking, Bus Stand, Jammu.
The Association stated that the facility is extensively used by shopkeepers and employees of adjoining markets of Raghunath Bazaar, who use the designated parking to help decongest city roads and ensure smooth traffic movement.
During the meeting, the VC JDA assured the delegation that an appropriate decision would be taken and requested the Association to provide vehicle registration numbers of members regularly using the facility.
The Association will compile and submit the vehicle numbers to JDA. Members using the parking have been requested to provide their vehicle registration numbers to the Association at the earliest.
The Association urged JDA to withdraw the steep hike and rationalize the rates in the interest of regular users and traffic management in Jammu city.
