Global Peace Organization organized Picnic for Inmates of Vridh Ashram, Jammu
In a noble initiative for bringing joy to the golden age, the Global Peace Organization organized one day picnic for the elderly souls of Home for Aged and Infirm, Amphala, Jammu at the picturesque Mansar Lake.
The senior citizens, many of whom are neglected by their families, spent a memorable day filled with joy, fun, music, dance and laughter. The event was organized to foster togetherness and caring for those who cared for us in their youthful days.
Several inmates shared their cherished memories, sang songs and recited poems creating moments of warmth and nostalgia. The event also featured performances by mimicry artist Sonu Kumar papularly known as Badshah Gujarati, Shri Rinku Mansar Wala, a famous Dogri singer, and Mr. Avinash, who enthralled the gathering with soulful songs. The elderly people joyfully tapped their feet, swayed to the rhythm, and danced throughout the event. One of the senior citizen emotionally said, “Music is the key that unlocks the doors of our memories.”
On this occasion, Sheikh Altaf Hussain, Chairman Global Peace Organization, emphasized on the importance of love and respect for elders. He said, “Elders are the roots that keep us strong. Their guidance, selfless sacrifices, and unconditional love shape our future. Let’s make their twilight years as bright and joyful as they made our lives.” he urged.
Shri Zulifqar Ali Naqvi, Executive Director, Global PEACE Organization also spoke on the occasion. He said “ Elders are the founders of our society and the real tresure of Indian culture.” He also urged the youth to respect and care for those who once cared for you.
The group of elderly souls was accompanied by Shri Vinod Kumar (Manager), Shri Pritam Chand (Warden), Shrimati Suman Langeh (Superintendent), Dr. R. Thapa (Volunteer Medical Officer), and other supporting staff ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the event.
The volunteers of Global Peace Organization, who made this event a success include Ms. Manpreet Kour (Coordinator), Ifrah Hayat (Secretary), Mohammad Skinder Wani (Treasurer), Sewa Singh, Khurram Abbas Naqwi, Raja Khan, Sheikh Sabir, Shahnawaz, Shoaib and Sahil.
The event concluded with a sumptuous lunch. The managementof the home expressed sincere gratitude to the Global PEACE Organization for this initiative.
