LG Sinha lauds Transformative Social Initiatives of Vishwa Guru Bharat and in J&K
Meeting Focuses on Solar Lighting in Remote Villages, Skill Development Centres, Women-Youth Empowerment and Promotion of Unity & Ethical Living
Jammu, November 27, 2025: In a significant step towards strengthening collaborative efforts for holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir, HonтАЩble Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today held a detailed meeting with Ms. Rupali Sharma Dutta, Founder & President of Vishwa Guru Bharat Bhartiya Vedic Sanatan Sanskriti Trust (VGB BVSS Trust), representative of the Art of Living organization, and CEO of Samridh Driti LLP, along with Shri Vishal Kapahi, Director General of Vishwa Guru Bharat.
During the interaction at the Raj Bhawan, Ms. Rupali Sharma Dutta briefed the Lt Governor on the wide-ranging social initiatives being spearheaded by the Trust and its allied organizations across rural and urban areas of the Union Territory.
Key highlights of the ongoing and completed projects shared in the meeting include:
тАв Installation of hundreds of solar lighting units in remote and off-grid villages, bringing reliable and eco-friendly illumination to households that previously had little or no access to electricity after sunset.
тАв Establishment of multiple skill development and livelihood centres across Jammu and Kashmir, with special emphasis on women and youth empowerment through vocational training in traditional crafts, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and modern trades.
тАв Comprehensive programs promoting mental well-being, stress elimination, and community harmony through yoga, meditation, and the timeless principles of Bhartiya Vedic Sanatan Sanskriti.
тАв Sustained campaigns for unity, ethical living, environmental conservation, and cultural revival, aligning with the national vision of Viksit Bharat and Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
Expressing deep appreciation for the on-ground impact, the Lieutenant Governor commended the selfless service and commitment of Vishwa Guru Bharat Bhartiya Vedic Sanatan Sanskriti Trust and the Art of Living towards nation-building and social upliftment in Jammu and Kashmir. He assured full administrative support for scaling up these citizen-centric initiatives in underserved and far-flung areas.
Ms. Rupali Sharma Dutta thanked the Lt Governor for his visionary leadership and continued encouragement to the encouragement of civil society organizations working at the grassroots level for peace, progress, and prosperity in the Union Territory.
