Disha volunteers celebrated Women’s Day with women from humble backgrounds n distributed hygiene kits n eatables to them.They were also appreciated for their abilities as women n counselled on various important topics like family planning,menstrual hygiene n health.

Disha NGO’s Commitment to Menstrual
Awareness n Education !!

A major Supreme Court decision was taken whereby all States and Union Territories must ensure that biodegradable sanitary napkins are provided free of cost to girl students in every school — both government and private, urban and rural.
Disha NGO supports Supreme Court’s vision for menstrual health!!
It is a big decision which is a milestone for women's empowerment, ensuring that lack of sanitary products does not hinder education or violate dignity. Period poverty is a very widespread problem in countries like India.Free distribution either by the Government or by NGOs like Disha can solve this problem.
This decision is intended to:
• Promote gender equality in education.
• Reduce school absenteeism and dropouts linked to menstrual health challenges.
• Break down taboos and stigma around menstruation. It shall reduce shame and stigma attached to menstruation.
Indeed a great step by our government !!!

It also distributes sanitary napkins packets to the needy women free of cost, so that they get used to the comfort and hygiene of using them and later on adopt them as an integral part of their daily lives.Sharing with you some moments from today’s event !!
