JKSPYM SLCA organized a one-day community awareness program for truck drivers on “Drug Abuse Prevention” at the Truck Stand, Narwal, Jammu.

Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, organized a one-day community awareness program for truck drivers on “Drug Abuse Prevention” at the Truck Stand, Narwal, Jammu in collaboration with NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.

More than 70 truck drivers participated in the program. Resource persons from SLCA educated and sensitized truck drivers about the ill effects of drug abuse, risks of injecting drug use, and its link with HIV transmission. Awareness program included interactive discussions led by resource persons, who encouraged participants to adopt healthy lifestyles and avoid substance use.

A Nukkad Natak (street play) was also performed by the team of Navdurga Kala Manch to convey the message of drug-free living in an engaging and impactful manner. Mr. Kulwant Singh, Head of the Truck Union, appreciated the efforts of JKSPYM-SLCA and the resource team for organizing such a meaningful initiative and raising awareness among the trucking community, which often remains vulnerable to substance abuse.

The program concluded with a pledge by participants to spread the message of “Say No to Drugs” and contribute towards building a drug-free society.

Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), JKSPYM State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) for the UT of J&K and Ladakh, organized a one-day Awareness Program for Injecting Drug Users (IDUs) on “Drug Abuse Prevention” at Subhash Nagar, Jammu in collaboration with NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.

The program witnessed the participation of more than 70 IDUs. The program aimed to educate participants about the health risks associated with drug use, especially injecting drug practices, and to promote safe and healthy lifestyles. Experts from SLCA discussed topics such as prevention strategies, treatment options, harm reduction, and the importance of community and family support in recovery. Participants were also informed about government initiatives and available rehabilitation services under the NMBA and NAPDDR.

The interactive session encouraged open dialogue, helping individuals understand the consequences of drug abuse and motivating them towards seeking help and adopting positive behavioral changes.

Nukkad Natak on “Drug Abuse” was organized at the end of the program. The initiative was part of JKSPYM’s ongoing efforts under NMBA and NAPDDR to strengthen community-level engagement, spread preventive messages, and build a united front against drug abuse in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

JKSPYM, State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), organized yesterday one-day awareness program on “Drug Abuse Prevention” at Govt. Degree College, Kargil, Ladakh in collaboration with NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.

Principal, Diskit Angmo appreciated the initiative taken by SLCA to aware young minds and acknowledged the significance of such programs in educational institutions to build a drug-free society.

The event aimed to spread awareness among college students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote healthy coping mechanisms. The key topics addressed during the session included “Overview of NMBA & NAPDDR”; “Management of peer pressure”; “Overview of drugs & drug addiction-withdrawal symptoms & Effects”. The program witnessed the active participation of more than 100 students, faculty, and staff of the college.

Resource persons from SLCA emphasized the importance of making informed decisions, recognizing early signs of addiction, and accessing support systems when needed. Various interactive activities and discussions were conducted to engage students and encourage open dialogue around the subject. Nukkad Natak was organized for students on “Drug Abuse Prevention” and the event concluded with a collective pledge under NMBA, reinforcing the commitment of students and staff to contribute towards eradicating substance abuse from the community.

JKSPYM, State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), organized today an impactful awareness program at Govt. Degree College, Uttersoo, Dist. Anantnag, in collaboration with NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.

JKSPYM, State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR), organized impactful awareness programs for industry workers on “Drug Abuse Prevention” today at Sudhir Power Limited, Kartholi, Bari Brahmana, in collaboration with the NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

More than 70 workers actively participated in the program. A Nukkad Natak was performed, creatively depicting the ill effects of drug abuse and evoking an enthusiastic response from the participants.

JKSPYM, State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) for Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) organized a one-day Master-Volunteers Training for Volunteers of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan at Conference Hall, DC Office, Kargil, Ladakh in collaboration with NISD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India, and District Administration Kargil.

The program was held under the guidance of the DC Kargil and the District Social Welfare Officer, Kargil, graced the occasion with her presence. More than 60 participants attended the training program.
The training aimed at strengthening the role of volunteers under the NMBA in raising awareness and mobilizing communities against drug abuse.

Resource persons from SLCA conducted interactive sessions covering topics- An overview of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, Basic knowledge about substance use and its ill effects, Effective communication, and counseling skills for community outreach.

Volunteers actively participated in the training, sharing their experiences and perspectives. The program emphasized the importance of community-led initiatives in prevention, early intervention, and creating a drug-free environment in Kargil district.

The District Administration Kargil appreciated the initiative and assured continued support for activities under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

Under NMBA, JKSPYM SLCA organized a 3-days Training Program for Nurses/Health Service Providers on “Drug Addiction, Withdrawal symptoms and Relapse Prevention” in collaboration with NISD, MoSJE, GOI at Jammu.

Three-days Training program organized by JKSPYM, State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh for Nurses/Health Service Providers on “Drug Addiction, Withdrawal symptoms and Relapse Prevention” under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) in collaboration with NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.

The sessions were facilitated by eminent resource persons including Dr. Abhishek Chauhan (Neuropsychiatrist, GMC Jammu), Dr. Akhil Menia (Psychiatrist, Govt. College, Gandhi Nagar), Dr. Arti Bakhshi (Retd. Professor, Dept. of Psychology, University of Jammu), Mrs. Indu Bala, and Mrs. Rajni Bala (Project Managers).

Over the course of three days, participants engaged in discussions on various aspects of drug addiction and relapse prevention. The training featured interactive sessions, role plays, and group activities, making the learning process engaging and practical.

The program concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants, followed by a group photograph marking the successful completion of the training.

State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) of J&K & Ladakh under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), organized a community awareness program at Community Hall, Ladakh for members of the Taxi Union, Ladakh.

The session focused on the ill effects of drugs and drug addiction, highlighting their impact on health, family life, and livelihood. Resource persons from SLCA shared information on early warning signs, harmful consequences, and the importance of seeking timely help.

Taxi drivers pledged to spread the message of a drug-free Ladakh, ensuring safer communities and healthier lives. Nukkad Natak was organized on DAP under NMBA. Program concluded with pledge on NMBA.

JKSPYM, State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) of J&K and Ladakh, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), organized an impactful awareness program at Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School, Leh (Ladakh) in collaboration with NISD, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India.

The program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 82 students. Experienced resource persons from SLCA delivered sessions based on the “Navchetna” Module. Quiz competition was conducted, where students enthusiastically participated in the competition and winners were awarded for their performances.

Principal Kumzang Dolma appreciated SLCA for this informative initiative and thanked the team for engaging young minds in the fight against substance abuse.
