*Child Helpline Team Conducts Awareness Programs at Panchayats*
Child Helpline Jammu, under the guidance of esteemed DCPO Nawaz Sharief, JKAS, conducted massive awareness programs at panchayats in Gole Gujral, Marh, Trilokpur, Domana, Purkhoo, and surrounding areas on December 5th and 6th. These programs aimed to educate communities and children about child rights, the importance of reporting child abuse and exploitation, and the services offered by the 1098 helpline.
Reaching Out to Children Through Schools
To effectively reach children, CHL Jammu collaborated with school authorities, conducting awareness programs for students and teachers. These sessions proved instrumental in empowering children and educators to recognize and report cases of child abuse and exploitation, leveraging schools as a vital information sector for promoting child safety and well-being.
Key Awareness Areas:
- Child Rights: Educating children and communities about their rights and entitlements.
- Child Abuse: Raising awareness about various forms of child abuse, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
- Ill Effects of Drugs: Informing children and communities about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
- 1098 Helpline: Informing people about the 1098 helpline, a 24/7 service for reporting cases of child abuse, exploitation, and neglect.
The awareness programs conducted by the CHL team have been instrumental in empowering communities to recognize and report cases of child abuse and exploitation, promoting a safer and more supportive environment for children.
