Some beautiful souls chose to celebrate their special day with our Umang children, who come from underprivileged backgrounds. Instead of spending only on themselves, they shared their love, time, food, smiles and blessings with these children. 🌸

The happiness on the faces of the children was truly priceless. And perhaps, that is the most meaningful way to celebrate a birthday—by making someone else’s day special.

ਅੱਜ PAHAL TI ਮੰਡੀ ਗੋਬਿੰਦਗੜ੍ਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੀਜ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ’ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੜੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ।

ਸਮਾਗਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਸ ਤੀਜ, ਮਿਸ ਪੰਜਾਬਣ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਸਟ ਪਰਫਾਰਮਰ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਜੇਤੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਿਤ ਸਰ, ਮਿਊਂਸਪਲ ਹੈੱਡ ਦੇ PA, ਸਾਡੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਯੋਗ PD ਮੈਮ ਹਰਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ PAHAL TI ਟੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੌਸਲਾ ਵਧਾਇਆ।
HIV/AIDS ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ HIV/AIDS ਬਾਰੇ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀਪੂਰਨ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਵੀ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ HIV ਦੇ ਫੈਲਾਅ, ਬਚਾਅ, ਟੈਸਟਿੰਗ, ਇਲਾਜ ਅਤੇ HIV ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਭੇਦਭਾਵ ਅਤੇ ਕਲੰਕ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਵਧਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਇਹ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ, HIV/AIDS ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਿਊਨਿਟੀ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕਠੇ ਜੋੜਨ ਦਾ ਵਧੀਆ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ।

ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਛੱਪੜ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਮ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਨੇ। ਇਹ ਮੀਂਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ, ਧਰਤੀ ਹੇਠਲੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨੂੰ ਰੀਚਾਰਜ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜੀ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਜੈਵ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਇਕ habitat ਅਤੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ।

ਪਰ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਕਈ ਛੱਪੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਣਦੇਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਛੱਪੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਖਤਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਦਕਿ ਅਣਦੇਖੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਈ ਛੱਪੜ ਠੋਸ ਕੂੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਡੰਪਿੰਗ ਗਰਾਊਂਡ ਬਣ ਗਏ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਜਲਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ।

ਪਿੰਡ ਬੁਲੰਦਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਹੀ ਇੱਕ ਛੱਪੜ ਦੇ ਪੁਨਰਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ WRI India ਅਤੇ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ PAHAL ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਪੜ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਈ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਇਸੇ ਤਹਿਤ PAHAL ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੱਪੜ ਦੀ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨੁੱਕੜ ਨਾਟਕ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ Vision Theatre Group, Jalandhar ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਨਾਟਕ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਪੜਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ, ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੂੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਗੰਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਈ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਅੱਜ ਇਹ ਨਾਟਕ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਈ ਸਕੂਲ, ਬੁਲੰਦਪੁਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਖੇਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ।
