🌍 CECOEDECON at APFSD 2025: Advancing GESI in Climate & Energy Policies! 💡

CECOEDECON co-organized a multistakeholder side event "Powering the Future: Advancing Gender and Social Inclusion in Climate and Energy Policies" at the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) 2025 to enhance understanding and strategies for Gender Equality & Social Inclusion (GESI) in the region.

This hybrid event brought together experts to assess the status of GESI implementation, share best practices, and contribute to a CSO-led outcome statement on inclusive, sustainable, and science-based climate & energy policies.

At the 12th Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD), CECOEDECON co-organized a vital discussion on "Transforming the World and Leaving No One Behind: Lessons from the Asia-Pacific in the Implementation of the SDGs."
The session highlighted the lived realities of marginalized communities across Asia and the Pacific, showcasing community-led solutions that are driving real change. The discussion also explored systemic barriers, innovative financing for SDGs, and the crucial role of civil society organizations (CSOs) in accelerating SDG progress.

CECOEDECON's director and one of the co-chairs of the APRCEM, Ajhay K Jha, shared during his Keynote Speech that all humanity can still live within the boundaries and with reasonable comfort at less than one third of the extraction and emissions that we are experiencing right now. That primarily means that we have to reorganize our economic order, unlike now with the profit seeking and capitalist economy.

This keynote provided a critical overview of the global and regional landscape, shedding light on systemic challenges that hinder the progress of sustainable development goals. As we navigate the path toward a more just, equitable, and sustainable future, this discussion highlighted urgent issues and the collective actions needed to accelerate change.

महामहिम राष्ट्रपति श्रीमती द्रौपदी मुर्मू President of India के साथ श्रीमती सिया बाई, अध्यक्ष, अपनी बचत घर योजना महिला सहकारी समिति शाहबाद, 26 जनवरी 2025 को कर्तव्य पथ दिल्ली में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में शामिल होकर संवाद करती हुईं।

वर्षों के प्रशिक्षण और CECOEDECON के सहयोग से, सियाबाई एक सशक्त आदिवासी नेता के रूप में उभरी हैं, जो अपने गांव की महिलाओं को रंगाई, चित्रकला, बांस की टोकरी निर्माण, स्वयं सहायता समूह, कानूनी जागरूकता जैसी गतिविधियों के माध्यम से सीखने, सृजन करने व सशक्त बनने के लिए प्रेरित कर रही हैं।
