सहायक महानिदेशक, सामाजिक एवं मानव विज्ञान, यूनेस्को (अवकाश पर) गेब्रिएला रामोस ने की राउंडटेबल में कहा कि हम ऐसी व्यवस्थाओं में जी रहे हैं जहाँ करुणा की जगह मुनाफ़ा और प्रतिस्पर्धा हावी हैं।

उन्होंने ज़ोर दिया कि विकास का असली पैमाना केवल GDP या आँकड़े नहीं, बल्कि इंसानों की भलाई, समानता और टिकाऊपन होना चाहिए।

रामोस ने स्पष्ट किया कि आर्टिफ़िशियल इंटेलिजेंस जैसी नई तकनीकों से तभी स्वतंत्रता और न्याय सुरक्षित रहेंगे, जब नीतियाँ और निर्णय करुणा और नैतिक मूल्यों पर आधारित हों।

‘करुणा का वैश्वीकरण: न्याय, समानता, शांति और स्थिरता के लिए एक नैतिक रूपरेखा’ राउंडटेबल में रॉबर्ट एफ. केनेडी मानवाधिकार केंद्र की अध्यक्ष केरी केनेडी ने कहा कि करुणा का असली अर्थ है: अन्याय को सीधा चुनौती देना।

उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि करुणा केवल संवेदना नहीं, बल्कि सक्रिय ज़िम्मेदारी है—जो हमें प्रेरित करती है कि हम साहस के साथ आगे बढ़ें और शिक्षा, रोज़गार, स्वास्थ्य व न्याय जैसी बुनियादी ज़रूरतें सब तक पहुँचाएँ।
